    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kesulitan siswa dalam pembelajaran menulis teks eksplanasi kompleks. Kesulitan yang dialami siswa karena kurangnya pemahaman mengenai teks eksplanasi kompleks dan siswa sulit untuk menuangkan ide atau gagasan ke dalam bentuk tulisan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan siswa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan metode mind mapping, kemampuan siswa sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran dengan tanpa metode pembelajaran, dan perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan siswa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan metode mind mapping di kelas eksperimen dan tanpa metode pembelajaran di kelas kontrol. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen kuasi dengan desain penelitian nonequivalent control group design. Penelitian dilakukan di kelas XI SMAN 24 Bandung dengan subjek penelitian kelas XI MIA 7 sebagai kelas kontrol dan XI MIA 8 sebagai kelas eksperimen. Berdasarkan penghitungan uji hipotesis dengan taraf kepercayaan 95% dan derajat kebebasan 62 diperolah hasil ttabel sebesar 1,9994 dan thitung sebesar 10,06. Hal ini berarti thitung (10,06) > ttabel (1,9994), sehingga dapat diinterpretasikan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol setelah diberi perlakuan. Berdasarkan hal tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak. Artinya, metode peta pikiran (mind mapping) efektif dalam pembelajaran menulis teks eksplanasi kompleks.
    This research is motivated by the difficulty of students in learning to write complex explanatory text. The difficulties experienced by students due to lack of understanding of the complex explanatory text and students difficult to pour the idea or ideas into written form. This study aims to determine the ability of students before and after using mind mapping, the ability of students before and after learning without learning method, and a significant difference between students' abilities before and after using mind mapping method in experiments class and without learning methods in the control class. The method used is a quasi experimental research design with nonequivalent control group design. The study was conducted in class XI SMAN 24 Bandung to study the subject in class XI MIA 7 as the control classes and XI MIA 8 as the experimental class. Based on the calculation hypothesis test with 95% confidence level and degrees of freedom 62 obtained results ttable and thitung 1.9994 and 10.06. This means thitung (10.06) > ttable (1.9994), so it can be interpreted that there are significant differences between the experimental class capabilities and control classes after being treated. Based on this it can be concluded that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. That is, the method maps the mind (mind mapping) are effective in learning to write complex explanatory text.
