Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan bahan ajar IPA terpadu tema laut yang berfungsi untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh ketidaktersediaan bahan ajar IPA tematik terpadu yang relevan dengan keadaan geografis lingkungan pembelajaran, salah satunya yaitu lingkungan dekat laut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Developmet. Pengembangan bahan ajar menggunakan metode Four Steps Teaching Material and Development yang terdiri dari tahap seleksi, strukturisasi, karakterisasi, dan reduksi. Pada tahap seleksi diperoleh draft kumpulan materi satu dengan kesesuaian rata-rata antara indikator, uraian konsep, dan pengembangan nilai-nilai yang terkait sebesar 88% atau termasuk dalam kategori sangat sesuai. Pada tahap strukturisasi dilakukan penyusunan struktur bahan ajar melalui pembuatan peta konsep, struktur makro, dan multipel representasi. Pada tahap karakterisasi dilakukan uji keterpahaman yang meliputi tes penulisan ide pokok paragraf dan angket keterpahaman oleh 79 siswa SMP kelas VII, diperoleh hasil 11% paragraf bahan ajar memiliki karakter sulit. Hasil karakterisasi digunakan sebagai dasar reduksi pada konsep yang memiliki karakter sulit. Berdasarkan uji kelayakan diperoleh rerata kelayakan bahan ajar 3,6 dengan kriteria sangat layak. Nilai hasil evaluasi pemahaman konsep siswa setelah menggunakan bahan ajar sebagai bahan ajar penunjang yaitu 72 atau termasuk dalam kategori nilai di atas Kriteria Kelulusan Minimal (KKM) yaitu 65. Efektivitas penggunaan bahan ajar yang dikembangkan terhadap pemahaman konsep siswa yaitu sebesar 0,85 atau termasuk dalam kategori large effect. Kata kunci: bahan ajar, IPA terpadu, tema laut, Four Steps Teaching Material Development This study aims to produce Sea Theme teaching material with integrated science which serves to enhance the student’s undestanding of the concept. This study is motivated by unavailability of thematic integrated science teaching material which relevant with learner’s geographical environment, one of them is the environment which close to the sea. This study uses Research and Developmet (R&D) method. This study use Four Steps Teaching Material and Development. The ocean theme teching material development consists of selecting, structuring, characterizing, and didactic reducing steps. The selecting step produce the first draft of teaching material which has suitability score of indicators, description of concept, and description of related values is 88%. In the structuring step, there is three things to do, which is making concept map, macrostructure, and multiple representation. In the characterizing step, there is understanding test which include main idea writing test and understanding questionnaire which done by 79 seventh grade student, then the result is 11% paragraphs of the teaching material have difficult character. These result are used as a basis for reduction in the next step. The eligibility test has the result that this teaching material’s eligibility score is 3,6. It’s mean that this teaching material is very eligibility. Based on the student’s undestanding test after used this teaching material as a suplement teaching material, it reach 72 point or include in the category value above KKM. The effectiveness of the use of teaching materials developed for students' understanding of the concept is equal to 0.85 or included in the large effect category.
