Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses pembelajaran dengan menerapkan pendekatan Realistic Mathematic Education pada mata pelajaran matematika untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa Sekolah Dasar serta mendeskripsikan perkembangan kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa Sekolah Dasar pada mata pelajaran matematika yang menerapkan pendekatan Realistic Mathematic Education pada proses pembelajarannya. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di salah satu Sekolah Dasar Negeri di Kota Bandung dengan melibatkan kelas V dengan jumlah 28 siswa. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kemampuan pemahaman matematis pada pembelajaran matematika materi bangun ruang kubus yang rendah sesuai dengan perolehan data awal hanya 16 siswa atau 42,85% yang berhasil mencapai KKM. Permasalahan tersebut dikarenakan pembelajaran matematika tidak mengangkat masalah-masalah konkret atau nyata yang berhubungan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari siswa. Maka dari itu sangat diperlukan adanya pendekatan yang sesuai dengan permasalahan tersebut salah satunya dengan penerapan pendekatan Realistic Mathematic Education. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah lembar observasi guru dan siswa, tes dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa perencanaan yang disusun peneliti dengan menggunakan langkah-langkah pendekatan Realistic Mathematic Education dan proses pembelajaran pun mengalami peningkatan pada aktivitas guru maupun siswa dari 91,66% pada siklus I menjadi 100% pada siklus II, serta adanya perkembangan kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa pada setiap tahapannya, yang ditunjukkan melalui hasil tes kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa, pada siklus I rata-rata nilai siswa adalah 66,42 meningkat menjadi 96,42 pada siklus II dan ketuntasan belajar pun mengalami peningkatan dari 64,28% pada siklus I menjadi 96,42% pada siklus II. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan Realistic Mathematic Education dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa Sekolah Dasar. Kata Kunci : Realistic Mathematic Education, Kemampuan Pemahaman Matematis This study aimed to describe the learning process by applying Realistic approach Mathematic Education in mathematics to improve the ability of primary school students' mathematical understanding and describing the development of mathematical comprehension abilities of elementary school students in mathematics that approach Realistic Mathematic Education in the learning process. This study was conducted in one of the elementary schools in the city of Bandung involving V class with 28 students. This research is motivated by the ability of mathematical understanding in math learning materials cubes low geometry according to the initial data acquisition only 16 students or 42.85% to reach KKM. Those problems due to the learning of mathematics does not raise issues or real concrete related to the daily life of students. Therefore, it is necessary to approach the problem in accordance with one of them with the application of Mathematic Education Realistic approach. This study uses a Class Action Research (PTK). The instrument used in this study is the observation sheet teachers and students, test and documentation. The results showed that the researchers plan that is prepared by using step-by-step approach Realistic Mathematic Education and learning process was an increase in the activity of teachers and students of 91.66% in the first cycle to 100% in the second cycle, as well as the development of students' mathematical understanding ability at each stage, which is indicated by the results of the test the ability of students 'mathematical understanding, on the first cycle students' average score was 66.42 increased to 96.42 in the second cycle and complete learn also increased from 64.28% in the first cycle to 96 , 42% in the second cycle. Based on these results it can be concluded that the application of Mathematic Education Realistic approach can improve the ability of primary school students' mathematical understanding.
