Abstract
Pemahaman dan kemampuan aplikasi konsep merupakan dua dari sekian banyak kompetensi yang harus dibangun dalam pembelajaran sains. Namun, beberapa penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa kedua kompetensi tersebut masih belum dikuasai siswa secara maksimal. Rendahnya penguasaan dan pemahaman konsep siswa diduga menjadi penyebab rendahnya konsistensi konsepsi siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran tentang tingkat konsistensi konsepsi dan peningkatan kemampuan aplikasi konsep siswa pada materi tekanan sebagai efek penerapan strategi PDEODE dalam pembelajaran generatif. Metode penelitian yang dipilih adalah metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain one group pretest posttest design. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah tes tertulis. Instrumen tes yang digunakan berupa tes objektif dalam bentuk pilihan ganda. Sebanyak 30 butir soal yang mengukur sepuluh konsep tekanan digunakan untuk mengukur konsistensi konsepsi siswa. Sementara itu, 12 butir soal diantaranya digunakan pula untuk mengukur kemampuan aplikasi konsep siswa. Siswa dapat dianggap konsisten apabila mampu menjawab secara benar tiga pertanyaan yang menguji konsep yang sama, sekalipun disajikan dalam konteks yang berbeda. Adapun peningkatan kemampuan aplikasi konsep siswa dilihat dari skor rerata gain yang dinormalisasi berdasarkan pretest dan posttest. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 26 orang siswa kelas 8 salah satu SMP Negeri di Kabupaten Tasikmalaya. Berdasarkan tes yang dilakukan, diperoleh gambaran bahwa konsistensi konsepsi siswa pada materi tekanan berada pada level cukup konsisten, sedangkan peningkatan kemampuan aplikasi konsep siswa berada pada kategori sedang. Understanding and concept application skill are two of the many competencies that must be built into the learning of science. However, some studies reveal that both the competence of the students are still not optimally controlled. Low understanding of the concept of students suspected to be the cause of the low consistency of students' conceptions. This study aims to gain an overview of the level of consistency of students' conceptions and concept application skill enhancement on the pressure matter as the effects of the implementation of the PDEODE strategy in generative learning. The research method use was pre-experimental with one group pretest posttest design. The samples included one class which were selected by random of the class method. The data was collected by posttest to measure consistency of students' conceptions and pretest and posttest to measure the increase of the concept application skill. The results showed that the consistency of students' conceptions on the pressure matter at the level fairly consistent, while the increase of concept application skill in middle category.
