Abstract

Metode Listening in Action merupakan satu di antara metode pembelajaran menyimak yang dirancang untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menyimak siswa melalui aktivitas yang melibatkan praktik langsung. Terdapat empat tahapan kegiatan dalam metode pembelajaran, yaitu menyimak atentif guru dan siswa melakukan interaksi, menyimak intensif siswa belajar secara individu untuk menyimak sebanyaknya, menyimak selektif siswa mencari informasi yang dicari, dan menyimak interaktif siswa berdiskusi untuk memecahkan masalah dalam menyimak. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk membandingkan hasil menyimak siswa kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan metode Listening in Action berbantuan Aplikasi VoxBox dengan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan metode terlangsung. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya keterampilan menyimak sebagai dasar berbahasa yang berperan signifikan dalam memahami informasi dan menunjang keberhasilan belajar siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen kuasi dengan desain non-equevalent control group design. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 75 siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 6 Cimahi yang terbagi menjadi 40 orang siswa di kelas eksperimen dan 35 orang siswa di kelas kontrol. Berdasarkan uji hipotesis didapatkan hasil perhitungan Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 dengan syarat Ha diterima adalah Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 < 0,05. Maka hasil perhitungan tersebut Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 < 0,05. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa Ha diterima atau terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil tes akhir menyimak teks prosedur di kelas eksperimen, dan hasil tes akhir di kelas kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode Listening in Action berbantuan Aplikasi VoxBox efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran kemampuan menyimak teks prosedur peserta didik. The Listening in Action method is one of the listening learning methods designed to improve students' listening skills through activities that involve direct practice. There are four stages of learning activities, namely attentive listening of the teacher and students interacting, intensive listening of students learning individually to listen as much as possible, selective listening of students looking for the information they are looking for, and interactive listening of students discussing to solve problems in listening. The aim of this research was to compare the listening results of experimental class students who used the Listening in Action method assisted by the VoxBox application with the control class who used the direct method. This research is motivated by the importance of listening skills as the basis of language which plays a significant role in understanding information and supporting students' learning success. The research method used was a quasi-experiment with a non-equivalent control group design. The sample in this study consisted of 75 class VII students at SMP Negeri 6 Cimahi, divided into 40 students in the experimental class and 35 students in the control class. Based on the hypothesis test, the calculation results obtained are Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 with the condition that the Ha received is Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05. So the calculation result is Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05. This proves that Ha is accepted or that there is a significant difference between the results of the final test on listening to the procedure text in the experimental class and the results of the final test in the control class. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that the Listening in Action method assisted by the VoxBox application is effective in learning students' ability to listen to procedural texts.
