Abstract

Kemampuan penalaran matematis merupakan kemampuan mengidentifikasi bentuk dan solusi matematika yang dianggap sangat penting dalam membantu individu tidak sekedar mengingat fakta, aturan, dan langkah-langkah penyelesaian masalah, tetapi menggunakan keterampilan bernalarnya dalam melakukan pendugaan atas dasar pengalamannya sehingga yang bersangkutan akan memperoleh pemahaman konsep matematika yang saling berkaitan, serta merupakan kemampuan abad-21 yang digunakan dalam menghadapi revolusi industry 4.0, dimana dunia professional menghadapi masalah yang lebih kompleks. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan pengaruh implementasi model pembelajaran discovery learning dan direct instruction dengan computer assisted menggunakan web terhadap perolehan dan peningkatan kemampuan penalaran matematis mahasiswa dengan memperhatikan tingkat self-regulated learning, serta menyusun konjektur yang mengaitkan tingkat self-regulated learning mahasiswa dengan kemampuan penalaran matematis. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah mix-method research berjenis explanatory sequential design, dengan subjek penelitian berjumlah 66 mahasiswa semester V yang sudah mempelajari matakuliah metode numerik di Universitas di Kota Langsa, Aceh. Intrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu tes kemampuan penalaran matematis dan kuesioner self-regulated learning. Data kuantitatif dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif, inferensial, dan analisis regresi, sedangkan data kualitatif menerapkan case studi dengan prespektif grounded theory. Dari penelitian ini diperoleh 1) Implementasi pembelajaran discovery berbantuan komputer berpengaruh lebih tinggi daripada pembelajaran direct instruction berbantuan komputer, 2) Self-regulated learning secara signifikan berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis mahasiswa dengan hubungan yang dimodelkan dari persamaan regresi Y=-79,133+0,831X, 3) Kemampuan penalaran matematis mahasiswa kelompok belajar DL-CA tingkat SLR tinggi tergambarkan oleh mahasiswa memiliki kemampuan penalaran memorize, algorithmic, plausible, dan mathematics foundation, sedangkan pada Tingkat SLR sedang dan rendah memiliki kemampuan penalaran memorize, algorithmic, dan plausible atau kemampuan penalaran imitatif. Mathematical reasoning ability is the capability to identify mathematical forms and solutions, considered crucial in helping individuals to not merely memorize facts, rules, and problem-solving steps, but to utilize their reasoning skills in making predictions based on their experiences. This enables them to acquire an understanding of interconnected mathematical concepts. It is also a 21st-century skill used in facing the 4.0 industrial revolution, where professionals encounter more complex problems. This research aims to analyze and describe the influence of implementing discovery learning and direct instruction models with computer assistance using the web on the acquisition and improvement of students' mathematical reasoning abilities, considering the level of self-regulated learning. It also formulates a conjecture linking the level of students' self-regulated learning with their mathematical reasoning abilities. The method used in this research is a mixed-method research with an explanatory sequential design, with 66 fifth-semester students who have studied numerical methods at a university in Langsa City, Aceh, as subjects. The instruments used in this research were a mathematical reasoning ability test and a self-regulated learning questionnaire. Quantitative data was analyzed using descriptive, inferential statistics, and regression analysis, while qualitative data employed a case study with a grounded theory perspective. The research found that: 1) The implementation of computer-assisted discovery learning had a higher impact than computer-assisted direct instruction, 2) Self-regulated learning significantly positively influenced students' mathematical reasoning abilities, with the relationship modeled by the regression equation Y=-79,133+0,831X, 3) The mathematical reasoning abilities of students in the DL-CA group with a high level of SLR were characterized by students having memorize, algorithmic, plausible, and mathematics foundation reasoning abilities, while those with a moderate and low level of SLR had memorize, algorithmic, and plausible reasoning abilities or imitative reasoning abilities.
