Abstract
Implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka menuntut inovasi dalam pembelajaran yang tidak hanya responsif terhadap kebutuhan peserta didik, tetapi juga relevan dengan dinamika sosial dan kultural yang ada di lingkungan mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan menguji Model Pembelajaran Sosiologi yang mampu memperkuat penerapan Kurikulum Merdeka di tingkat Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA). Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode hipotetik berbasis analisis 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), penelitian ini dimulai dengan identifikasi kebutuhan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan para guru sosiologi yang mengajar di Wilayah Provinsi Jawa Barat, kepala sekolah, wakil kepala sekolah, guru penggerak, serta tinjauan literatur yang komprehensif. Tahap Design melibatkan pengembangan prototipe model pembelajaran yang didasarkan pada temuan-temuan empirik awal, yang kemudian diuji melalui implementasi terbatas di SMA pada tahap Develop. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa Model Pembelajaran ISMAIL (Inovatif, Sistematis, Mandiri, Aktif, Interaktif, dan Lestari) berpotensi besar dalam meningkatkan pemahaman sosiologi bagi murid, memfasilitasi pembelajaran yang lebih partisipatif dan reflektif, serta memperkuat keterampilan kritis dan sosial mereka. Model ini secara efektif mengintegrasikan kearifan lokal sebagai bagian dari konten pembelajaran, menjadikan materi lebih kontekstual dan bermakna. Namun, penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa keterbatasan fasilitas dan sumber daya di beberapa sekolah menjadi tantangan utama dalam penerapan model ini secara optimal. Diseminasi hasil penelitian ini dilakukan melalui publikasi dalam jurnal ilmiah terindeks dan penyusunan buku yang diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi utama bagi pendidik dalam mengimplementasikan Kurikulum Merdeka. Meskipun demikian, keberhasilan model ini memerlukan uji validasi yang lebih luas untuk memastikan adaptabilitas dan efektivitasnya di berbagai konteks pendidikan. The implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum demands innovation in teaching that not only responds to the needs of students but is also relevant to the social and cultural dynamics present in their environment. This research aims to design and test a Sociology Learning Model that can enhance the application of the Merdeka Curriculum at the Senior High School (SMA) level. Employing a qualitative approach with a 4D analysis-based hypothetical method (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), the study begins with the identification of needs through in-depth interviews with sociology teachers in West Java Province, principals, vice principals, driving teachers, and a comprehensive literature review. The Design phase involves the development of a prototype learning model based on initial empirical findings, which is then tested through limited implementation in SMA during the Develop phase. The results indicate that the ISMAIL Learning Model (Innovative, Systematic, Independent, Active, Interactive, and Sustainable) has significant potential to enhance students' understanding of sociology, facilitate more participatory and reflective learning, and strengthen their critical and social skills. This model effectively integrates local wisdom as part of the learning content, making the material more contextual and meaningful. However, the research also identifies that limitations in facilities and resources at some schools pose a major challenge to the optimal implementation of this model. Dissemination of this research's findings is carried out through publication in indexed academic journals and the preparation of a book expected to serve as a primary reference for educators in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum. Nevertheless, the success of this model requires broader validation testing to ensure its adaptability and effectiveness across various educational contexts.
