Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi dari hasil observasi awal yang menunjukkan rendahnya keterlibatan peserta didik kelas XI-4 SMA Laboratorium Percontohan UPI. Dapat dilihat juga pada hasil belajar siswa dengan nilai rata-rata semua peserta didik sebesar 70,82 (di bawah KKM). Maka dari itu, tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan keterlibatan peserta didik kelas XI-4 setelah diterapkannya media google my maps pada pembelajaran geografi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode pre-experimental design dengan bentuk desain one shot case study. Sampel penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas XI-4 SMA Laboratorium Percontohan UPI yang berjumlah 28 peserta didik. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan lembar observasi aktivitas guru dan peserta didik, lembar angket peserta didik, tes tertulis (posttest), lembar wawancara guru, catatan lapangan, dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis yang telah dilakukan, diperoleh nilai thitung yang lebih besar dari ttabel antara media google my maps dengan keterlibatan perilaku (12,199>2,055), keterlibatan emosi (12,216>2,055),dan keterlibatan kognitif peserta didik (10,977>2,055). Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa adanya pemanfaatan media google my maps dalam pembelajaran geografi kelas XI-4 SMA Laboratorium Percontohan UPI dapat meningkatkan keterlibatan peserta didik secara perilaku, emosi, dan kognitif. Meskipun begitu, media google my maps masih perlu dioptimalkan dari segi fungsi medianya dan guru harus selalu mengevaluasi kinerjanya untuk terus mengupayakan terlibatnya peserta didik dalam pembelajaran geografi. This study was prompted by the preliminary observations indicating a lack of student engagement in class XI-4 of SMA Laboratorium Percontohan UPI. This is evidenced by the learning outcomes, with an average score of 70.82 (below the passing grade). Consequently, this study aims to ascertain the impact of google my maps media on student engagement in class XI-4 of geography learning. The research method employed was pre-experimental design with one shot case study. The sample consisted of 28 students from class XI-4 of the SMA Laboratorium Percontohan UPI. Data were collected through observation and assessment tools, including a teacher and learner activity observation sheet, a learner questionnaire sheet, a written test (posttest), a teacher interview sheet, field notes, and documentation. The results of the analysis indicate that the t-count value for google my maps media with behavioral engagement (12.199>2.055), emotional engagement (12.216>2.055), and cognitive engagement of students (10.977>2.055) is greater than the t-table. The results indicate that the use of google my maps media in learning geography can increase the engagement of students behaviorally, emotionally, and cognitively. However, google my maps media still requires optimization in terms of its media functions. Furthermore, teachers must continuously evaluate their performance to maintain the engagement of students in geography learning.
