Abstract

Kemampuan listening dalam bahasa inggris perlu dilatih dengan cara mendengarkan dan berbicara yang dilakukan secara berulang-ulang. Media pembelajaran audio berupa podcast disertai dengan modul pembelajaran bahasa inggris digunakan untuk mengoptimalisasi kemampuan listening bagi siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui implementasi podcast terhadap optimalisasi pembelajaran dan kefektifan penerapan podcast pada kemampuan listening bahasa inggris di tingkat SMA. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dari Stephen Kemmis dan Mc Taggart. PTK dilakukan sebanyak 2 siklus dengan tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Setiap siklus dilaksanakan Post Test untuk mengetahui kemampuan siswa setelah kegiatan pembelajaran. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada siswa kelas XI MIPA 4 di SMA Negeri 2 Tasikmalaya sebanyak 33 orang. Podcast dibuat dengan aplikasi anchor dan software audacity sedangkan modul pembelajaran dirancang dengan menggunakan Adobe Illustrator. Perolehan skor validasi materi pada naskah podcast dan materi modul pembelajaran yaitu sebesar 100%. Perolehan skor validasi soal Post Test 1 sebesar 83% dan Post Test 2 sebesar 81%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang diperoleh dari hasil post test 1 dan post test 2 dihasilkan taraf signifikansi sebesar 0.00036 atau 3,6 x 10-5. Taraf signifikasi tersebut bernilai< 0.005, sehingga disimpulkan bahwa implementasi media pembelajaran podcast dan modul pembelajaran bahasa inggris menjadikan hasil belajar siswa dapat lebih optimal. ----- Listening skills in English need to be trained by listening and speaking repeatedly. Audio learning media in the form of podcasts accompanied by English learning modules are used to optimize students' listening skills. The purpose of this study is to find out the implementation of podcasts on learning optimization and the effectiveness of applying podcasts on English listening skills at the high school level. This study used the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method from Stephen Kemmis and Mc Taggart. PTK is carried out in 2 cycles with the stages of planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. Each cycle carried out Post Test to determine the ability of students after learning activities. This research was conducted on 33 students of class XI MIPA 4 at SMA Negeri 2 Tasikmalaya. Podcasts are made with the anchor application and Audacity software while the learning modules are designed using Adobe Illustrator. The acquisition of material validation scores on podcast scripts and learning module materials is 100%. The validation score for Post Test 1 questions was 83% and Post Test 2 was 81%. Based on the research results obtained from the results of post test 1 and post test 2, a significance level of 0.00036 or 3.6 x 10-5 was produced. The significance level is <0.005, so it is concluded that the implementation of podcast learning media and English learning modules makes student learning outcomes more optimal.
