Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masalah pentingnya peranan bahan ajar yang diterapkan pada proses pembelajaran dalam membentuk dan mengembangkan karakter siswa di kelas IV SD. Teks biografi merupakan salah satu bahan ajar yang mengandung nilai karakter bagi siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mengidentifikasi kandungan nilai karakter pada teks biografi dalam Buku Tematik Kelas IV SD berdasarkan Penguatan Pendidikan Karakter (PPK) yang ditetapkan oleh Kemendikbud (2017). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode penelitian analisis isi. Sumber data yang digunakan yaitu buku tematik siswa kelas IV sekolah dasar. Instrumen yang digunakan berdasarkan indikator yang terdapat dalam PPK yang ditetapkan oleh Kemendikbud (2017). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teks biografi pada Buku Tematik Kelas IV sekolah dasar mengandung nilai karakter berdasarkan PPK yang ditetapkan oleh Kemendikbud (2017). Nilai karakter yang ditemukan yaitu nilai karakter religius, nasionalis, mandiri, gotong royong, dan integritas. Dari lima nilai karakter tersebut di dalamnya terdapat 20 subnilai. Subnilai yang terkandung pada teks biografi dalam Buku Tematik Kelas IV SD yaitu subnilai beriman bertaqwa, bersih, toleransi, cinta lingkungan, cinta tanah air, semangat kebangsaan, menghargai kebhinekaan, kerja keras, kreatif, disiplin, berani, pembelajar, kerja sama, solidaritas, saling menolong, kekeluargaan, keteladanan, kesantunan dan cinta pada kebenaran. Sedangkan subnilai yang tidak terkandung pada teks biografi dalam buku tersebut yaitu subnilai kejujuran. ----- This research is motivated by the importace of the role of the teaching materials which is applied to the learning process in forming and developing student’s character in grade 4th of elementary school. The biography text is one of the teaching materials that contain character values of students. The purpose of this research is to identify the value of biography text character in Elementary Thematic Book 4th Grade based on Strengthening Character Education set by the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture (2017). This research employed qualitative approach using content analysis research method. The data sources use in Elementary Thematic Book 4th Grade. Instruments used based on indicators contained in Strengthening Character Education set by the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture (2017). The results of this research show that the biography text in Elementary Thematic Book 4th Grade contains character values based on Strengthening Character Education set by the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture (2017). Character values found are the values of religious, nastionalist, independent, cooperation, and integrity. From these five character values, there are 20 sub-values. The sub-values contained in the biographical text in the Elementary Thematic Book 4th Grade are faithful, clean, tolerance, love the environmental, patriotism, national spirit, respect for diversity, hard work, creative, disciplined, brave, learner, cooperation, solidarity, helping each other, kinship, examplary, good manners and love the truth. While the sub-values not contained in the biographical text in the book are honesty sub-values.
