Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman materi ajar dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa SD melalui penggunaan model pembelajaran experiential learning berbantuan kit of science for kids. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen semu dengan desain penelitian the matching only pretest and posttest control group design. Proses pembelajaran menggunakan model experiential learning berbantuan kit of science for kids dan model pembelajaran tradisional digunakan sebagai pembanding. Pembelajaran berlangsung selama empat pertemuan, setiap pembelajaran dilakukan proses observasi keterlaksanaan kegiatan pembelajaran. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 55 siswa yang terdiri dari 28 siswa dengan model pembelajaran experiential learning berbantuan kit of science for kids dan 27 siswa dengan model pembelajaran tradisonal. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan tes pilihan ganda untuk pemahaman materi ajar dan tes uraian untuk kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Teknik analisis data menggunakan data rerata n-gain dan uji non-parametrik Uji t. Nilai n-gain pada kelas dengan model pembelajaran experiential learning sebesar 0,57 sedangkan pada kelas dengan model pembelajaran tradisional 0,28. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan pemahaman materi ajar dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa yang mendapatkan model pembelajaran experiential learning berbantuan kit of science for kids lebih tinggi dibandingkan siswa yang mendapatkan model pembelajaran tradisional. ;---This research was accompanied to define the escalation of science understanding and problem solving skills in elementary students through kit of science for kids and experiential learning model. The research method used is quasi-experimental by means of the research design the matching only pretest and posttest control group design. The learning process exhausting experiential learning model concluded kit of science for kids as a contrast using traditional learning. There are four assemblies, each learning process is conceded in out in of observing the implementation of learning activities. The research subjects in the class were 55 students, 27 students on class experiential learning and 28 students in traditional model class. The research instrument practices multiple choice tests for science understanding assessments and essay tests for problem solving skills. The analysis techniques practice the mean n-gain and parametric Uji t on SPSS test. Experiential model class has 0,57 gain and 0,28 on traditional class. The results indicated there is an improved of science understanding and problem solving skills that students appropriated experiential learning model using kit of science for kids, and it is better than students who procured traditional learning.
