Abstract

Penelitian ini berpijak pada permasalahan kemampuan membaca pemahaman dalam ranah pendidikan formal. Penelitian ini mengujicobakan strategi DRTA berbantuan media gambar. Strategi DRTA adalah strategi pembelajaran membaca dengan langkah memprediksi gambar dan judul, lalu membuktikannya dengan membaca. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui apakah terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode eksperimen kuasi dengan desain penelitian non equivalent control group design. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 31 peserta didik di setiap kelas yaitu kelas VIII J kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII G kelas kontrol di SMPN 12 Bandung. Hasil nilai prates kelas eksperimen rata-rata 55,74 dan kelas kontrol dengan nilai rata-rata 54,00. Hasil nilai pascates di kelas eksperimen rata-rata 70,40 dan kelas kontrol dengan nilai rata-rata 57,96. Berdasarkan hasil hipotesis diperoleh 0,003 yang menunjukkan bahwa Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman peserta didik sebelum dan sesudah diterapkannya strategi DRTA berbantuan media gambar.;--This research is based on the problem of reading comprehension in the realm of formal education. This study tested the DRTA strategy assisted by image media. The DRTA strategy is a reading learning strategy with steps to predict images and titles, then prove it by reading. The purpose of this study is to determine whether there are significant differences between the experimental class and the control class. The research method used is a quasi-experimental method with a non equivalent control group design. The sample in this study were 31 students in each class, namely class VIII J experimental class and class VIII G control class at SMPN 12 Bandung. The results of the experimental class pretest scores an average of 55.74 and the control class with an average value of 54.00. The results of the post-test scores in the experimental class averaged 70.40 and the control class with an average value of 57.96. Based on the results of the hypothesis obtained 0.003 which shows that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. There are significant differences in the ability to read the understanding of students before and after the implementation of DRTA-aided media strategies.
