Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat struktur sebuah novel Prancis dengan menggunakan teori Stanton dan analisis sekuen novel model Barthes. Selain itu dalam penelitian ini dilakukan sebuah kajian lima kode naratif Roland Barthes untuk menelaah makna yang terkandung dalam sebuah novel. Peneliti memanfaatkan metode analisis deskriptif-kualitatif dalam mendalami novel Prancis berjudul Chanson Douce karya seorang penulis Prancis bernama Leïla Slimani yang dipublikasikan pada tahun 2016. Novel Chanson Douce terdiri atas tema, alur, tokoh dan latar. Dengan bertemakan hubungan rumit antara orang tua dan pengasuh bayi, terdapat 287 sekuen dan 107 fungsi utama yang membangun cerita sebagian besar mengisahkan kehidupan Louise sang baby-sitter dalam alur mundur. Louise sebagai tokoh utama dalam fiksi ini dibantu oleh sepuluh tokoh tambahan yang berhasil membangun cerita dengan baik. Berlatar kehidupan modern abad ke-21 di Paris, pembaca akan memperoleh gambaran dari kehidupan keluarga kelas menengah dari pasangan muda yang menikah dan memiliki anak. Hasil dari kajian ini adalah bahwa terdapat kelima unsur kode Barthes seperti 18 kode hermeneutik, 11 kode semik, 4 kode simbolik, 6 kode proairetik dan 13 kode gnomik dalam novel. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa novel ini memiliki lebih banyak kode hermeneutik dibanding kode lainnya. Kita dapat menerapkan pembelajaran semiotika struktural dalam novel tersebut melalui contoh rencana pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan semiotika sekaligus sastra bagi pembelajar dan pengajar bahasa Prancis. This research aims to figure out the structure of the French novel through Stanton's theory and sequence analysis the Barthes and to describe the meaning of the novel by using the five codes of Roland Barthes. For this, we will apply the method of descriptive qualitative research in the novel Chanson Douce written by a French writer, Leila Slimani, published recently in 2016. The result of this research suggests that the novel Chanson Douce consists of theme, plot, character and setting. Under the theme of the complicated relationship between the parents and their nanny who babysit, there are 287 sequences with 107 main functions that build the whole story where most of them talk about Louise. This novel shows that the plot in this novel is flashback. The main character in this story is Louise with 10 subordinate characters that support the main hero act. The novel takes the atmosphere of the 21st century in Paris by evoking the life of young Parisian parents from middle class. However, novel Chanson Douce contains the five codes of Roland Barthes including several elements such as 18 hermeneutic codes, 11 semantic codes, 4 symbolic codes, 6 proairetic codes and 13 cultural codes. While this novel is dominated by these hermeneutical codes than others, we can thus apply the semiotic-structural learning in the novel through the educational sheet to enrich the semiotic and literary knowledge for learners and teachers of French language.
