Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh keterampilan membaca intensif siswa kelas IV A dalam pembelajaran tematik pada semester II masih tergolong rendah dan pembelajaran yang masih bersifat teacher center, hal ini terlihat dari kegiatan siswa dalam membaca yang masih selalu membaca dengan nyaring secara serempak juga banyaknya nilai siswa dalam pembelajaran membaca yang masih dibawah Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) yakni dibawah 75. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut maka penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca intensif siswa dengan menerapkan metode Reciprocal Questioning (ReQuest). Subjek penelitian ini adalah kelas IV A dengan jumlah 34 siswa. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini mengacu pada model Kemmis & Mc. Taggart dengan menerapkan dua siklus. Pengolahan data dikelompokkan menjadi data kuantitatif dan data kualitatif. Data kualitatif diperoleh dari hasil observasi aktivitas guru dan siswa. Data kuantitatif berupa data hasil tes/ evaluasi siswa yang dianalisis menggunakan rumus yang telah ditentukan. Hasil analisa data menunjukkan terjadinya peningkatan keterampilan membaca intensif siswa. Presentase ketuntasan pada siklus I yaitu 47%, pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 94% yang dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode Reciprocal Questioning (ReQuest) dapat meningkatkan keterampilan membaca intensif siswa kelas IV sekolah dasar.-- This research is motivated by intensive reading skills of grade IV A students in thematic learning in the second semester is still relatively low and teacher center still learning, this can be seen from the activities of students in reading who still always read aloud simultaneously the many grades of students in learning reading that is still below the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM), which is under 75. Based on these problems, this study aims to improve students' intensive reading skills by applying the Reciprocal Questioning (ReQuest) method. The subject of this study was class IV A with a total of 34 students. This class action research refers to the Kemmis & Mc model. Taggart by applying two cycles. Data processing is grouped into quantitative data and qualitative data. Qualitative data is obtained from observations of teacher and student activities. Quantitative data in the form of test / evaluation results of students who are analyzed using a predetermined formula. The results of data analysis indicate an increase in students' intensive reading skills. The percentage of completeness in the first cycle is 47%, in the second cycle increased to 94% which can be concluded that the application of the Reciprocal Questioning (ReQuest) method can improve intensive reading skills of fourth grade students of elementary school.
