Abstract
Tujuan umum penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis efektivitas penggunaan media gambar karikatur terhadap peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran sejarah kelas X di SMA Albidayah Batujajar. Tujuan khusus penelitian ini untuk menganalisis: (1) peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa pada aspek motif kognitif (cognitive motives); (2) peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa pada aspek penampilan diri (self expression); dan (3) peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa pada aspek kemajuan diri (self enchancement). Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu pendekatan kuantitatif, dengan metode kuasi eksperimen dan desain penelitian yaitu nonequivalent control group design. Sampel yang digunakan terdiri dari 54 orang siswa yang diambil dari dua kelas yang sudah ada. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah angket bentuk tertutup dan observasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, secara umum dapat disimpulkan bahwa media gambar karikatur mempunyai efektivitas yang lebih signifikan terhadap peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran sejarah kelas X di SMA Albidayah Batujajar. Adapun secara khusus penggunaan media gambar karikatur menunjukkan efektifitas yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa pada aspek: (1) motif kognitif (cognitive motives) yang ditandai dengan kemampuan memecahkan masalah, mampu memperluas wawasan dan menyerap materi dengan baik; (2) penampilan diri (self-expression) yang ditandai dengan adanya dorongan kuat pada siswa untuk belajar lebih aktif, kreatif dan mampu mengembangkan penilaian positif terhadap diri sendiri; (3) kemajuan diri (self enhancement) yang ditandai dengan kemampuan mengaktualisasikan dirinya serta mengembangkan kompetensi yang ada dalam diri siswa itu sendiri. ..... The general objective of this research is to analyze the effectiveness of using caricature drawing media against the improvement of student learning motivation on subjects of history class X in SMA Albidayah Batujajar. The specific purpose of this research is to analyze: (1) the improvement of student learning motivation on cognitive motives aspects; (2) the improvement of student learning motivation on aspects of the appearance of the self (self expression); and (3) the improvement of student learning motivation on the progress of the self (self enchancement). The approach used in this research is quantitative approach, with a quasi experimental methods and nonequivalent control group design. The sample used consists of 54 students from two classes that already exist. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire enclosed form and observation. Based on the results of research, in general it can be concluded that the media image of caricatures had significantly more effectiveness against the improvement of student learning motivation on subjects of history class X in SMA Albidayah Batujajar. In the other hand, the using of caricature drawing media shows a significant improvement against student learning motivation on aspects of: 1) the motives of cognitive (cognitive motives) are characterized by the ability to solve problems, able to expand insight and absorb the material well; 2) appearance (self-expression) is characterised by the existence of a powerful force in the students for learning more active, creative and able to develop a positive judgement against themselves; 3) progress (self enhancement) are characterized by the ability to actualize themselves and develop competencies that exist within the students themselves.
