Abstract

Tujuan dilaksanakannya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kualitas masing-masing komponen beban kognitif pada pembelajaran matematika menggunakan powerpoint. Untuk mengetahui kualitas beban kognitif instrinsic dilakukan pengukuran kemampuan menerima dan mengolah informasi, beban kognitif extraneous melalui angket respon siswa, dan beban kognitif germane melalui hasil belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tingkat kemampuan menerima dan mengolah informasi siswa adalah tinggi sehingga siswa memilki beban kognitif instrinsic yang rendah. Siswa menunjukkan sikap yang positif terhadap pembelajaran menggunakan multimedia powerpoint, dengan kata lain beban kognitif extraneous siswa adalah rendah. Sedangkan hasil belajar siswa menunjukkan tingginya beban kognitif germane siswa.;---The aim of this study is to know the quality of each component of cognitive load on learning mathematics using PowerPoint. Measurement of the ability to receive and process information is done to find out the quality of intrinsic cognitive load, extraneous cognitive load through students’ response questionnaires, and germane cognitive load through students’ learning outcomes. The study result shows that the level of students’ ability to receive and process information is high, so that students have low intrinsic cognitive load. Students show positive attitude towards learning using PowerPoint multimedia, in other words students’ extraneous cognitive load is low. While students’ learning outcomes show that students’ germane cognitive loads are high.
