Abstract
Skripsi ini berjudul “Penerapan Strategi Menyortir Kartu (Card Sort) Dalam Meningkatkan Pemahaman Konsep Kesejarahan Siswa Pada Pembelajaran Sejarah (Penelitian Tindakan Kelas XII IPS 2 SMA Negeri 1 Sumedang). Pemahaman konsep kesejarahan dalam pembelajaran sejarah sangatlah penting untuk dikembangkan. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman konsep kesejarahan siswa dalam pembelajaran sejarah. Indikasi tersebut terlihat ketika guru beberapa kali memberikan pertanyaan kepada siswa, namun sangat sedikit siswa yang mencoba menjawab, adapun yang menjawab, jawabannya masih keliru dan cenderung asal-asalan, kemudian siswa yang mencoba menjawab pertanyaan sebatas siswa yang sama. Dari keresahan tersebut, maka peneliti merumuskan beberapa pertanyaan yang diambil dari penelitian ini diantaranya: Pertama, Bagaimana merencanakan pembelajaran sejarah dengan menerapkan strategi menyortir kartu (card sort). Kedua, Bagaimana cara melaksanakan strategi menyortir kartu (card sort). Ketiga, Bagaimana hasil dari strategi menyortir kartu (card sort). Keempat, Bagaimana upaya mengatasi kendala-kendala yang muncul dalam penerapan strategi menyortir kartu (card sort). Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian tindakan kelas model Kemmis dan Taggart yang terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik wawancara, observasi dan catatan lapangan. Aspek-aspek yang diteliti dari pemahaman konsep kesejarahan yaitu: menjelaskan konsep dan menyimpulkan konsep dengan bahasa sendiri. Penerapan strategi menyortir kartu (card sort) terbukti berhasil dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep kesejarahan siswa. Dilihat dari hasil penelitian yang dilakukan hendaknya strategi menyortir kartu (card sort) senantiasa dijadikan suatu alternatif solusi untuk menghadapi masalah pembelajaran yang ada di kelas, terutama mengenai pemahaman konsep kesejarahan.;---This thesis is entitled “The Application of Card Sort Strategy to Improve Student’s Comprehension of Historical Concept (Class Action Research at Class XII IPS 2 SMA Negeri 1 Sumedang). Comprehension of Historical Concept in learning history in important to develop. This research is motivated by the lack of students’s comprehension of historical concept in history class. The indication can be seen from when teacher give a question some times to students, but very few students try to answer, as for answer the question, the question still wrong and random, then the students who try to answer the question only the same students. From the issue above, the researchers formulated some questions in this research which are: Firts, How to plan the application of card sort strategy. Second, How to implement the application of card sort strategy. Third, The result of the application of card sort strategy. Fourth, How to overcome the obstacles that arise in the implementation of the application of card sort strategy. This research uses the classroom action research by Kemmis and Taggart’s design which are planing, implementation, observation and reflection. Interview, observation and field notes were used in this research. Aspects which were studied from the comprehension of historical concept are explaining the concept and concluding the concept with own language. The implementation of card sort strategy is success to improve student’s comprehension of historical concept. Judging from the results of research conducted, the card sort strategy should be set as an alternative solution to overcome the existing problems of learning process in the class, particularly regarding the comprehension of historical concept.
