    Abstract

    Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain Non Equivalent Pretest-Postest Control Group Design, yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan pembelajaran dengan strategi Brain-Based Learning dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman dan pemecahan masalah matematis, serta menurunkan kecemasan matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X di salah satu SMA Negeri di Kabupaten Rokan Hulu, Propinsi Riau tahun ajaran 2016/2017. Sampel penelitian ditentukan berdasarkan teknik purposive sampling. Materi yang dipilih dalam penelitian ini adalah Trigonometri. Adapun instrumen pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini adalah tes dan non-tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman dan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan strategi Brain-Based Learning lebih baik daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik secara keseluruhan; 2) Peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman dan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan strategi Brain-Based Learning lebih baik daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik berdasarkan KAM (tinggi, sedang, rendah); dan 3) Penurunan kecemasan matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan strategi Brain-Based Learning lebih baik daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik secara keseluruhan;--- This research is a quasi-experimental research with Nonequivalent Control Group Design, which serves to analyze learning with Brain-Based Learning strategies in improving understanding and problem solving ability and reducing students' mathematical anxiety. The population of this research is all students of grade X in one of SMA Negeri in Rokan Hulu Regency, Riau Province academic year 2016/2017. The sample was based on purposive sampling technique. The material chosen in this research is Trigonometry. The data collecting instruments in this study are test and non-test. The results of the study show that: 1) Enhancement of students’ mathematical understanding and problem solving ability who learn with Brain-Based Learning strategies is better than students who learn with scientific approach from overall students; 2) Enhancement of students mathematical understanding and problem solving ability who learn with Brain-Based Learning strategies is better than students who learn with scientific approach from overall students and based on KAM (High, Medium, Low); and 3) Reduction of students mathematical anxiety who learn with Brain Based Learning strategies is better than students who learn with scientific approach from overall students
