Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan menulis permulaan siswa kelas II sekolah dasar. Hal ini terlihat dengan siswa menuliskan kata belum lengkap pada kalimat serta menulis tanpa memperhatikan huruf kapital dan tanda baca. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, peneliti mencoba menerapkan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe picture and picture untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis permulaan siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe picture and picture untuk meningkatkan menulis permulaan siswa sekolah dasar meliputi pelaksanaan dan peningkatan kemampuan menulis permulaan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kemmis dan Taggart yang dilaksanakan dalam tiga siklus. Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan berupa lembar observasi dan tes menulis permulaan siswa. Analisis data kuantitatif diperoleh melalui statistik deskriptif persentase. Analisis data kualitatif diperoleh melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan menunjukkan pada siklus I persentase menulis permulaan siswa adalah 58% dengan kategori cukup, meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 75% dengan kategori baik, dan meningkat pada siklus III menjadi 83% dengan kategori baik sekali. Peningkatan hasil kemampuan menulis permulaan siswa dari siklus I ke siklus II sebesar 17% dan dari siklus II ke siklus III sebesar 8%. Dari hasil tersebut, disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran kooperatif tipe picture and picture dapat meningkatkan menulis permulaan siswa kelas IIA SDN C5 Bandung.;---This research is motivated by the low ability of writing the beginning of students in grade II elementary school. It is characterized by students writing incomplete the word on the sentence and without regard to capital letters and punctuation. To overcome these problems, researchers tried to apply cooperative learning type picture and picture to improve students’ writing ability. This study aims to describe the application of cooperative learning type picture and picture to improve the writing of the beginning of elementary school students including the implementation and improvement of writing the beginning. The research method used Classroom Action Research with Kemmis and Taggart model is implemented in three cycles. Instruments of data collection used in the form of observation sheet and writing the beginning test. Quantitative data analysis is obtained through the percentage descriptive statistics. Qualitative data analysis is obtained through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of the research shows that in the cycle I the percentage of students writing the beginning is 58% with category of enough, increased in cycle II to 75% with category of good, and increased in cycle III to 84% with very good category. The improve of students writing the beginning ability from cycle I to cycle II by 17% and from cycle II to cycle III by 9%. From these results, it was concluded that cooperative learning type picture and picture can improve the ability of students writing the beginning of grade IIA in SDN C5 Bandung.
