Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA. Hal ini ditandai dengan nilai IPA yang diperoleh siswa kurang dari KKM. Pembelajaran IPA yang dilaksanakan masih menggunakan metode konvensional. Hal ini menjadi faktor penyebab rendahnya hasil belajar siswa. Untuk mengatasinya, diperlukan pendekatan pembelajaran yang dapat memberikan kesan menyenangkan bagi siswa saat belajar, salah satunya dengan menerapkan pendekataan PAIKEM. Pendekatan PAIKEM dapat menjadikan pembelajaran dikelas menyenangkan sehingga pembelajaran lebih bermakna bagi siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan penerapan pendekatan PAIKEM pada pembelajaran IPA dan mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswanya. Metode penelitiannya adalah metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan model Spiral dari Kemmis dan Taggart. Setiap siklusnya meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus dengan subjek penelitiannya adalah siswa kelas IV SDN S berjumlah 33 siswa. Instrumen penelitiannya adalah lembar observasi keterlaksanaan penerapan pendekatan PAIKEM dan lembar evaluasi. Hasil penelitian pada siklus I pelaksanaannya kurang baik, dimana hanya 60% siswa yang mencapai ketuntasan belajar. Sedangkan pada siklus II pelaksanaannya sudah baik, dimana terdapat 93% siswa yang mencapai ketuntasan belajar. Dari pelaksanaan siklus I dan II, hasil belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan sebesar 33%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pendekataan PAIKEM pada pembelajaran IPA dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa sekolah dasar. ----------- This research is motivated by low student learning outcomes in science subjects. This is marked by the value of science obtained by students less than KKM. The science learning that is carried out still uses conventional methods. This is a factor causing low student learning outcomes. To overcome this, a learning approach is needed that can give the impression of fun for students while studying, one of them by applying PAIKEM approach. The PAIKEM approach can make learning enjoyable in class so that learning is more meaningful for students. The purpose of this research is to know the implementation of PAIKEM approach on science learning and to know the improvement of student learning outcomes. The research method is Classroom Action Research method with Spiral model from Kemmis and Taggart. Each cycle includes the planning, implementation, observation and reflection phases. The study was conducted in two cycles with the subjects of the study were the fourth grade students of SDN S amounted to 33 students. The research instrument is an observation sheet of the implementation of PAIKEM approach and evaluation sheet. The results of research on the first cycle of implementation is not good, where only 60% of students who achieve mastery learning. While in the second cycle of implementation is good, where there are 93% of students who achieve mastery learning. From the implementation of cycles I and II, student learning outcomes increased by 33%. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the application of PAIKEM approach on science learning can improve the learning outcomes of elementary school students.
