Abstract
Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa SMP masih rendah, terutama dalam memahami masalah dan menyusun model matematika. Penelitian ini mencoba untuk mengatasi rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis menggunakan model pembelajaran Diskursus Multi Representasi (DMR). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa SMP kelas VII melalui model pembelajaran DMR lebih tinggi dibandingkan pembelajaran langsung, serta untuk mengetahui sikap siswa terhadap pembelajaran matematika menggunakan model DMR. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain kelompok kontrol pretes-postes. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII salah satu SMPN di Kota Bandung dengan dipilih sampel dua kelas VII. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa sebelum dan sesudah pelaksanaan pembelajaran. Data kualitatif diperoleh dari data hasil analisis terhadap angket dan lembar observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa melalui model DMR lebih tinggi dibandingkan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran langsung, dan siswa menunjukkan sikap antusias, senang dan percaya diri dalam pembelajaran DMR. Kata Kunci: Model DMR, Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis Mathematical problem solving skills in junior high school’s students are low, particularly in understanding the problem and device a mathematical model. This research attempts to address the lack of mathematical problem solving skills of students to use Multi Representation Discourse model (DMR). The purpose of this research was to determine whether the increase in mathematical problem solving skills of junior high school students grade VII who take teaching DMR model is higher than direct instruction learning, and to knowing how students respons about learning math with DMR model. This research used quasi experiment method with control group pretest-posttest. The population of this research were 7th grade students the one of junior high school in Bandung city. From this research, the researcher randomly took two classes as sample.The quantitative data have mathematical problem solving test before and after implementation learning. The qualitative data has data analysis result of questionnaire and observe sheet. The result of this research showed the increase in mathematical problem solving skills of students who take teaching DMR model is higher than direct instruction learning, and students showed enthusiasm, fun and confident in learning DMR.
