Abstract

Ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi berkembang secara pesat perlu diimbangi dengan sumber daya manusia yang memiliki kemampuan mumpuni. Tidak hanya kemampuan kognitif semata, tetapi juga memiliki softskill yang mendukung keterampilan abad 21. Pendidikan Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) merupakan solusi untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran dan dapat mempersiapkan siswa menjadi mampu untuk melatihkan keterampilan abad 21. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan pembelajaran IPA berbasis STEM dan melihat peningkatan penguasaan konsep siswa pada topik Hukum Newton serta mengidentifikasi profil kecerdasan personal siswa SMP. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pre experiment dengan desain penelitian one group pretest-posttest. Sampel pada penelitian ini sebanyak 26 siswa SMP yang diambil dengan teknik Convenience Sampling. Penguasaan konsep diukur dengan menggunakan instrumen soal uraian berbasis STEM sebanyak 4 butir soal. Peningkatan penguasaan konsep siswa setelah pembelajaran IPA berbasis STEM diuji dengan normalized gain dan didapatkan <g> sebesar 0,57 dengan kategori sedang. Profil kecerdasan personal siswa setelah pembelajaran IPA berbasis STEM menggunakan dua buah instrumen, yaitu instrumen self assessment, dan peer assessment. Profil kecerdasan intrapersonal berdasarkan instrumen self assessment, dan peer assessment berturut-turut adalah 69,38; dan 64,08. Sedangkan untuk kecerdasan interpersonal untuk instrumen self assessment adalah 73 dan peer assessment adalah 60,23. _ ; _ Science and technology are rapidly developing needs to be balanced with the human resources that have the qualified ability. Not only cognitive ability, but also have the soft skills that support 21st century skills. Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Education is a solution to improve the quality of learning and prepare students may be able to trained 21st century skills. This study aims to implement a STEM-based science learning and seeing increasing mastery of concepts students on the topic of Newton's laws as well as identifying the personal intelligences profile junior high school students. The method used in this research is pre experiment with the design of the study one group pretest-posttest. Samples in this study were 26 junior high school students taken using Convenience Sampling. Concept mastery measured using an instrument about 4 items STEM-based essay. Increased students concepts mastery after learning STEM-based science tested with a normalized gain and earned <g> 0,57 in the medium category. Students personal intelligences profile after learning STEM-based science uses two instruments, self-assessment and peer assessment. Intrapersonal intelligence profile based self-assessment and peer assessment are respectively 69.38; and 64.08. As for interpersonal intelligence for self assessment instrument is 73 and the peer assessment is 60.23.
