Abstract

Rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas XI IPS SMA Negeri 1 Sumedang menjadi latar belakang dilaksanakannya penelitian ini. Kemampuan berpikir kritis merupakan bagian dari kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sebelum dan setelah diberi perlakuan pada kelas eksperimen STAD, kelas eksperimen TAI dan kelas kontrol. Subjek terdiri dari tiga kelas yaitu kelas XI IPS 2 sebagai kelas kontrol, XI IPS 3 sebagai kelas eksperimen TAI, dan XI IPS 4 sebagai kelas eksperimen STAD. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan menggunakan Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dalam bentuk pilihan ganda. Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan software iteman versi 3.00 dan SPSS versi 16. Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan statistika parametrik melalui uji t independent (t-test independent) dan paired t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sebelum dan setelah diberi perlakuan pada masing-masing kelas; tidak terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa antara kelas eksperimen STAD dengan kelas eksperimen TAI; tidak terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa antara kelas eksperimen STAD dengan kelas kontrol; dan tidak terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa antara kelas eksperimen TAI dengan kelas kontrol. Kata Kunci : Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis, model Cooperative Learning, STAD, TAI The background of this research is the low critical thinking skills of students class XI IPS in SMAN 1 Sumedang. The critical thinking skills is part of a higher order thinking. The purpose of this research was to determine the differences in the students critical thinking skills before and after got some treatment in STAD experimental class, TAI experimental class and control class. The participant are consisted of three classes they are XI IPS 2 as the control class, XI IPS 3 as TAI experimental class, and XI IPS 4 as STAD experimental class. The method used in this research is quasy experiment by using Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The multiple choices test is use in collecting the data. The data processed by using software iteman version 3:00 and SPSS version 16. The hypotesis tested by using statistical parametric through independent t-test and paired t-test. The results showed that there are differences in the students critical thinking skills before and after given treatment in each class; there is no differences between the students critical thinking skills in STAD experimental class with TAI experimental class; there is no differences between the students critical thinking skills in STAD experimental class with control class; and there is no difference between the students critical thinking skills in TAI experimental class with control class.
