Abstract
ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan konsep teknik vokal Sunda, proses penerapan, serta hasil yang dicapai dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menyanyi lagu daerah pada siswa kelas VIII C SMPN 2 Cilebar Karawang. Metode yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kemmis & McTaggart yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, dengan tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Materi yang digunakan adalah lagu “Mojang Priangan” sebagai media pembelajaran teknik vokal Sunda, yang meliputi pernapasan, artikulasi, intonasi, phrasering, ekspresi, dan ornamentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan terhadap kemampuan siswa, ditunjukkan melalui peningkatan ketepatan phrasering, kejelasan artikulasi, kestabilan pernapasan, serta kemampuan mengekspresikan makna lagu sesuai karakter vokal Sunda. Selain itu, pembelajaran ini juga menumbuhkan apresiasi siswa terhadap budaya lokal melalui praktik langsung dalam menyanyikan lagu daerah. Dengan demikian, penerapan teknik vokal Sunda terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan vokal sekaligus berperan dalam pelestarian budaya daerah. ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to describe the concept of Sunda vocal techniques, the process of implementation, and the results achieved in improving the ability to sing folk songs among students in Class VIII C of SMPN 2 Cilebar, Karawang. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (PTK) based on the Kemmis & McTaggart model, which was carried out in two cycles with the following stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The material used was the song "Mojang Priangan" as a teaching tool for Sundanese vocal techniques, including breathing, articulation, intonation, phrasing, expression, and ornamentation. The results of the study showed a significant increase in student ability, as evidenced by improved intonation accuracy, clear articulation, stable phrasering, and the ability to express the meaning of the song in accordance with the characteristics of Sunda vocal style.Furthermore, this learning experience fosters students' appreciation for local culture by allowing them to directly experience the practice of singing traditional songs. Therefore, the application of Sundanese vocal techniques has been proven effective in improving vocal skills and contributing to the preservation of regional culture.
