Abstract

Pemahaman konsep nilai tempat seharusnya sudah dikuasai siswa sebagai materi prasyarat untuk melanjutkan pada materi berikutnya. Namun kondisi faktual menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi nilai tempat bilangan masih rendah, kondisi dilapangan juga menunjukkan belum adanya penggunaan media pembelajaran yang digunakan pada materi ini. Maka dibutuhkannya sebuah media pembelajaran untuk dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi nilai tempat bilangan. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui efektivitas media pembelajaran kubus warna untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep nilai tempat pada siswa kelas 1 sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode quasi eksperimen dan desain penelitian non-equivalent control group design. Populasi yang digunakan yakni seluruh siswa kelas 1 sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Coblong, Adapun sampel yang dipilih merupakan siswa kelas 1A sebanyak 19 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol dan siswa kelas 1C sebanyak 17 orang sebagai kelas eksperimen di SDN X Kecamatan Coblong. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes dengan 9 soal uraian. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah uji normalitas, uji perbedaan rerata menggunakan Uji Wilcoxon, uji N-Gain, uji efektivitas menggunakan uji Mann-Whitney. Taraf signifikansi yang digunakan yaitu 5% (0.05) Hasil menunjukkan bahwa kelas eksperimen memiliki perolehan nilai rata-rata yang lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol. Pada hasil uji N-Gain kelas eksperimen juga mendapatkan hasil rata-rata 0.60 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,40. Pada uji hipotesis diperoleh nilai sig (2-tailed) sebesar 0.001 dengan kesimpulan H1 diterima. Hal ini berarti bahwa media pembelajaran kubus warna efektif untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep nilai tempat bilangan pada siswa kelas 1 sekolah dasar. Students should have mastered the concept of place value as a prerequisite material to continue with the next material. However, factual conditions show that students' conceptual understanding of the material on place value of numbers is still low, conditions in the field also show that there is no use of learning media used in this material. So there is a need for learning media to improve students' understanding of concepts in the place value of numbers. The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of the color cube learning media to increase understanding of the concept of place value in grade 1 elementary school students. This research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a non-equivalent control group design. The population used was all grade 1 elementary school students in Coblong District. The sample chosen was 19 grade 1A students as the control class and 17 grade 1C students as the experimental class at SDN X Coblong District. The instrument used is a test with 9 descriptive questions. The data analysis technique used in this research is the normality test, mean difference test using the Wilcoxon test, N-Gain test, effectiveness test using the Mann-Whitney test. The significance level used is 5% (0.05). The results show that the experimental class has a higher average score than the control class. In the N-Gain test results, the experimental class also got an average result of 0.60 and the control class 0.40. In the hypothesis test, a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.001 was obtained with the conclusion that H1 was accepted. This means that the color cube learning media is effective in increasing understanding of the concept of place value of numbers in grade 1 elementary school students.
