Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik yang tergolong masih rendah. Peserta didik masih kesulitan dalam memahami konsep matematika di SD. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan oleh guru untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik ialah penggunaan media dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan efektivitas peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran Maribean dalam materi operasi hitung pembagian bilangan cacah. Metode yang digunakan ialah kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian quasi eksperiment dan non equivalent control group pre-test post test design. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini merupakan peserta didik di salah satu SD negeri di Kota Bandung sebanyak 54 peserta didik yang terbagi menjadi 2 kelas sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan 27 peserta didik dan kelas kontrol dengan 27 peserat didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1) secara deskriptif, gambaran awal pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol memiliki nilai yang tergolong masih rendah; 2) secara deskriptif, skor perolehan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis di kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol; 3) rata-rata peningkatan skor perolehan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis di kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol; 4) penggunaan media Maribean lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik. Penggunaan media pembelajaran Maribean efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik.
This research was motivated by students' relatively low understanding of mathematical concepts. Students still have difficulty understanding mathematical concepts in elementary school. One effort that teachers can make to improve students' ability to understand mathematical concepts is the use of media in learning. This research aims to analyze and describe the effectiveness of increasing students' ability to understand mathematical concepts by using Maribean learning media in the operation of calculating whole number division. The method used is quantitative with a quasi-experimental research design and non-equivalent control group pre-test post test design. The participants in this research were 54 students at one of the public elementary schools in Bandung City who were divided into 2 classes as an experimental class with 27 students and a control class with 27 students. The research results show: 1) descriptively, the initial picture of students' understanding of mathematical concepts in the experimental class and control class has relatively low scores; 2) descriptively, the score for the ability to understand mathematical concepts in the experimental class was higher compared to the control class; 3) the average increase in the score for understanding mathematical concepts in the experimental class was higher compared to the control class; 4) the use of Maribean media is more effective in increasing students' understanding of mathematical concepts. The use of Maribean learning media is effective in improving students' ability to understand mathematical concepts.
