Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas model pembelajaran berbasis proyek (Project Based Learning - PjBL) dalam meningkatkan kemampuan mengoperasikan Microsoft Word pada anak tunarungu kelas VIII SMP. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah kurangnya kemampuan siswa tunarungu dalam mengoperasikan Microsoft Word serta model pembelajaran yang monoton dan kurang menarik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pre-eksperimen dengan desain one-group pre-test post-test, yang melibatkan enam siswa tunarungu kelas VIII SMP di SLBN Taruna Mandiri Kuningan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model PjBL efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan siswa tunarungu dalam mengoperasikan Microsoft Word. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan peningkatan signifikan pada skor post-test dibandingkan dengan skor pre-test. Siswa menunjukkan peningkatan dalam keterampilan membuat, mengedit, dan memformat teks, serta dalam mengetik, menyusun paragraf, mengatur tata letak halaman, dan menggunakan berbagai fitur Microsoft Word. Model PjBL terbukti membantu siswa belajar secara kontekstual dan praktis, meningkatkan keterlibatan dan pemahaman mereka. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa PjBL adalah model pembelajaran yang efektif dan direkomendasikan untuk digunakan dalam mengajar keterampilan mengoperasikan Microsoft Word pada anak tunarungu. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga memberikan implikasi bahwa pembelajaran berbasis proyek dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan memberikan lingkungan belajar yang lebih menyenangkan bagi siswa tunarungu. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model in enhancing the ability to operate Microsoft Word among eighth-grade hearing-impaired students in junior high school. The background of this research is the lack of ability of hearing-impaired students in operating Microsoft Word, as well as monotonous and less engaging learning models. This study uses a pre-experimental method with a one-group pre-test post-test design, involving six eighth-grade hearing-impaired students at SLBN Taruna Mandiri Kuningan.The results of the study indicate that the application of the PjBL model is effective in improving the ability of hearing-impaired students to operate Microsoft Word. This is evidenced by a significant increase in post-test scores compared to pre-test scores. Students showed improvements in skills such as creating, editing, and formatting text, as well as typing, composing paragraphs, setting page layouts, and using various features of Microsoft Word.The PjBL model has proven to help students learn contextually and practically, enhancing their engagement and understanding. This study concludes that PjBL is an effective learning model and is recommended for teaching Microsoft Word operating skills to hearing-impaired students. Additionally, this research implies that project-based learning can increase learning motivation and provide a more enjoyable learning environment for hearing-impaired students.
