Abstract
ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya permasalahan siswa dalam menulis teks laporan hasil observasi. Sebagian besar siswa masih kesulitan untuk mengungkapkan ide dan gagasannya ke dalam sebuah tulisan serta minat siswa dalam menulis teks laporan hasil observasi masih tergolong rendah. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan-permasalahan tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan menguji coba strategi REACT berbantuan media lingkungan dalam pembelajaran menulis teks laporan hasil observasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen kuasi dengan desain penelitian Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Cimaung. Sampel yang dipilih dalam penelitian ini, yaitu siswa kelas VIII-D sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan siswa kelas VIII-E sebagai kelompok kontrol yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu tes kemampuan siswa (tes awal dan tes akhir) dan angket siswa. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji statistik dengan bantuan SPSS versi 27. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan nilai signifikansi < 0,05, yang artinya Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil menulis teks laporan hasil observasi siswa yang menerapkan strategi REACT berbantuan media lingkungan dengan siswa yang tidak menerapkan strategi REACT berbantuan media lingkungan. ABSTRACT This research was motivated by students problems in writing observation report texts. Most students still have difficulty expressing their thoughts and ideas in writing and students interest in writing observation report texts is still relatively low. To overcome these problems, this research aims to test the REACT strategy assisted by environmental media in learning to write observation report texts. This research uses a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design research design. The population in this study were class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Cimaung. The samples chosen in this study were class VIII-D students as the experimental group and class VIII-E students as the control group who were selected using a purposive sampling technique. The data collection techniques used in this research were student ability tests (pretest and posttest) and student questionnaires. The data analysis technique in this research uses statistical tests with the help of SPSS version 27. The results of data analysis show a significance value of <0,05, which means Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the results of writing report texts based on observations of students who applied the REACT strategy assisted by environmental media and students who did not apply the REACT strategy assisted by environmental media.
