Abstract
Penelitian ini di latar belakangi, oleh rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam menulis karangan deskripsi dan bertujuan mendeskripsikan; (1) hasil belajar siswa dalam menulis karangan deskripsi sebelum menggunakan model pembelajaran CTL, (2) hasil belajar siswa dalam menulis karangan deskripsi sesudah menggunakan pembelajaran CTL, dan (3) signifikan model pembelajaran CTL dalam pembelajaran menulis karangan deskripsi. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah 30 siswa, salah satu sekolah menengah pertama di Kabupaten Cirebon. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen yang menggunakan desain pretest-postest one group design. Tes digunakan sebagai instrumen untuk mengumpulkan data yang dibutuhkan. Rata-rata nilai yang dicapai siswa pada waktu tes awal adalah 53,76 Tétapi sesudah dilakanakan pembelajaran menggunakan CTL hasilnya 65,1, signifikansi antara hasil pretest dan posttest, yaitu 53,76% meningkat menjadi 65,1% atau sebesar 8,26%. Dan hasil dari uji hipotesis menunjukan bahwa t itung > ttabel yaitu 5, 94 > 2, 46 yang artinya hipotesis (Ha) diterima dan hipotesis nol (Ho) ditolak. Kesimpulannya Modél pembelajaran CTL pada penulisan karangan deskripsi dianggap signifikan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis karangan deskripsi bahasa Sunda siswa kelas VII-C SMPN 2 Ciwaringin Kabupaten Cirebon taun ajaran 2013-2014. Kepada guru yang ingin menggunakan Model ini ada beberapa hal yang perlu di perhatikan guru, yaitu dalam mengkondisikan ruangan kelas, memotifasi siswa yang sesuai dengan tingkatannya, mematangkan materi untuk proses pembelajaran ini. Kata kunci: contextual teaching learning, karangan deskripsi, menuilis. The low students’ skill in writing descriptive text was the background of this research. The objectives of present research are describing; (1) students’ learning results in writing desrcriptive texts before using CTL learning model, (2) srudents’ learning results in writing descriptive texts after empoying CTL learning, and (3) teh CTL learning model significance in writing descriptive texts learning. The data reseources of this research were 30 students of one junior high school in Cirebon. The method employed in this research was quasi experiment using prestest-posttest one group design. The test is used as the instrument in collecting data. Teh average of students’ pretest scores is 53.76, and 65.1 is the average of students’ posttest scores. The significance between pretest and posttest is 8.26%. The result of hyphothesis testing shows that tobserved > ttable or 5.94 > 2.46. It means that alternative hyphothesis (Ha) is accepted and null hyphothesis (Ho) is rejected. To conclude, CTL learning model is assumed significant in increasing descriptive texts writing skill of SMPN 2 Ciwaringin Cirebon seventh grade students in 2013-2014 academic year. It is recommended for teachers who are willing to use this model to considered the condition of classroom, motivate students based on their level, and to be well prepared for this learning process.
