Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan menyimak di kelas VIII A SMPN 2 Kubung, Sumatera Barat. Siswa tidak dapat menyimak sebagaimana mestinya dikarenakan rutinitas yang rusak setelah pandemi. Tindakan yang dipilih untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut yaitu penggunaan metode cooperative script berbantuan media youtube pada proses pembelajaran. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menyimak siswa setelah diterapkannya metode cooperative script berbantuan media youtube pada proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas dengan desain penelitian 2 siklus. Data penelitian diambil dari 27 siswa kelas VIII A SMPN 2 Kubung. Pengambilan data pada penelitian ini yaitu dengan menggunakan instrumen penelitian berupa Rancangan Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP), wawancara, dan lembar observasi. Dari analisis data yang dilakukan, hasil dari tindakan pada siklus I menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 14 siswa yang mendapatkan nilai di bawah KKM, sementara 8 siswa berhasil mencapai nilai sesuai dengan KKM. Pada siklus 2, peningkatan terhadap keterampilan menyimak siswa menunjukkan hasil 22 siswa telah mencapai batas KKM. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode cooperative script berbantuan media youtube efektif dalam upaya peningkatan keterampilan menyimak siswa kelas VIII A SPMN 2 Kubung. Kata kunci: Keterampilan Menyimak, Metode Cooperatice Script, Media Youtube This research is motivated by the listening comprehension issues in class VIII A of SMPN 2 Kubung, West Sumatra. Students are unable to listen effectively due to disrupted routines after the pandemic. The chosen intervention to address this problem is the use of cooperative script method assisted by YouTube media in the teaching process. The objective of this study is to enhance students' listening skills after implementing the cooperative script method with the assistance of YouTube media during the teaching process. This research follows a classroom action research approach with a two-cycle design. Data for the study was gathered from 27 students in class VIII A of SMPN 2 Kubung. Data collection methods included the use of research instruments such as Lesson Implementation Plans (RPP), interviews, and observation sheets. From the conducted data analysis, the results of the first cycle show that 14 students scored below the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM), while 8 students achieved scores meeting the KKM. In the second cycle, there was an improvement in students' listening skills, with 22 students reaching the KKM threshold. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the cooperative script method assisted by YouTube media is effective in enhancing the listening skills of students in class VIII A of SMPN 2 Kubung.
