Abstract
Keterampilan abad 21 kini menjadi hal yang penting untuk dikuasai saat ini, salah satunya ialah aspek bahasa dalam keterampilan berkomunikasi. Pengenalan Bahasa Inggris pada anak usia dini menjadi salah satu hal yang penting untuk dikembangkan sebagai keterampilan abad 21. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses pembelajaran dengan media buku cerita dan penguasaan kosakata Bahasa Inggris anak usia dini melalui metode storytelling. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan model Pelton yang memiliki 5 tahapan yaitu identifikasi masalah, pengumpulan data, perencanaan tindakan, aktivasi rencana, dan penilaian hasil. Partisipan penelitian ini merupakan kelompok B, dengan rentang usia 5-6 tahun sebanyak 14 orang. Objek penelitian ini adalah penguasaan kosakata Bahasa Inggris. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis kualitatif deskriptif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada proses penerapan metode storytelling dengan media buku cerita, dilakukan selama tiga siklus. Hasil dari proses pembelajaran efektif selama penggunaan media buku cerita dalam metode storytelling dan penguasaan kosakata Bahasa Inggris anak meningkat setiap siklusnya. Dengan demikian penerapan metode storytelling dapat meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata Bahasa Inggris anak usia dini. -------- The 21st century skills are important things to master today, one of which is the language aspect in communication skills. The introduction of English in early childhood is one of the important things to develop as a 21st century skill. This study aims to determine the process of learning with storybook media and mastery of English vocabulary in early childhood through the method of storytelling. The research method used in this research is the Pelton model of action research which has 5 stages, namely problem identification, data collection, action planning, plan activation, and results assessment. The participants in this study were group B, with an age range of 5-6 years as many as 14 people. The object of this research is the mastery of English vocabulary. The analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative analysis and quantitative. The results of the research show the process of applying the method storytelling with storybook media, carried out for three cycles. The results of the learning process are effective during the use of storybook media in the method of storytelling and the children's English vocabulary mastery increases in each cycle. Thus the application of the method of storytelling can improve English vocabulary mastery of early childhood.
