Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan materi zat dan karakteristiknya dalam buku teks yang digunakan di sebagian besar SMP/MTs di Kota Bandung berdasarkan kriteria tahap seleksi dari 4S TMD. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian evaluatif dengan metode analisis konten. Terdapat tiga kriteria tahap seleksi dari 4S TMD. Berdasarkan kriteria pertama, yaitu kesesuaian dengan tuntutan kurikulum, diketahui bahwa objek penelitian belum sepenuhnya sesuai dengan tuntutan kurikulum 2013. Ditinjau dari keluasan materi, semua konsep pada objek penelitian dimuat dalam tuntutan kurikulum. Dengan demikian, secara umum keluasan materi sesuai dengan tuntutan kurikulum 2013. Ditinjau dari kedalaman konsep, dari tujuhbelas konsep tuntutan kurikulum, tujuh konsep dinyatakan kurang dalam. Berdasarkan kriteria kedua, yaitu kebenaran konsep, diketahui bahwa semua konsep sudah benar secara keilmuan menurut referensi buku-buku teks kimia umum internasional. Berdasarkan kriteria ketiga, yaitu penanaman nilai, diketahui bahwa nilai-nilai yang ditanamkan pada materi ialah rasa ingin tahu, disiplin, bersahabat/komunikatif, dan kerja keras.;--- This study was conducted to determine properness of substance and its characteristics in textbook which is used in most SMP/MTs in Kota Bandung on criteria of selection process of 4S TMD. The type of reseacrh is evaluative research by content analysis method. There are three criteria in the selection process of 4S TMD. Based on first criterion, that is conformity with the demands of curriculum, it is known that object of research is not yet fully in accordance with the demands of the curriculum 2013. In terms of material broadness, all concepts in research objects loaded in the demands of the curriculum. Thus, in general the extent of material in accordance with the demands of the curriculum of 2013. Meanwhile, in terms of concepts depth, from 17 concepts demanded by the curriculum, 7 concepts are less deep. Based on second criterion, that is concepts validity, it is known that all concepts are true scientifically according to the reference of international general chemistry textbooks. Based on third criterion, that is inculcation of values, it is known that values inculcated in the material are curiosity, discipline, friendly/communicative, and hard work
