Abstract

Mengingat kelangsungan hidup manusia di masa depan akan berdampingan dengan fenomena-fenomena perubahan iklim, penting untuk membahas isu ini di berbagai forum, termasuk di dalam dunia pendidikan. Berbagai model, metode, hingga media menjadi fokus para peneliti untuk membelajarkan perubahan iklim di sekolah. Cara belajar yang berorientasi masa depan patut dipertimbangkan guna meningkatkan beberapa kompetensi yang dibutuhkan siswa untuk menghadapi perubahan iklim. Future Workshop merupakan salah satu dari metode dalam kategori tersebut, yang diyakini mampu memberikan pengalaman belajar hingga siswa sampai pada tahap merumuskan aksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami pengaruh Future Workshop terhadap anticipatory competency dan intensi prolingkungan siswa terhadap isu perubahan iklim. Dengan desain penelitian preeksperimen berjenis one-group pretest-posttest design, serta menggunakan teknik pemilihan sampel berupa purposive sampling, penelitian dilakukan pada 26 siswa kelas X dan XI yang merupakan anggota ekskul Paskibra, English Club, dan Olimpiade Biologi di salah satu sekolah menengah atas di Kota Bandung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh dari metode pembelajaran Future Workshop terhadap peningkatan skor rata-rata tes pada anticipatory competency dan intensi prolingkungan siswa. Penelitian ini dapat menjadi gerbang pembuka untuk menelusuri lebih detail efektivitas metode Future Workshop terhadap masalah besar di masa depan, seperti perubahan iklim. Diyakini, aspek emosi menjadi kunci dalam kemunculan anticipatory competency dan intensi prolingkungan siswa, serta patut dipertimbangkan dalam proses pembelajaran. Given that human survival in the future will coexist with climate change phenomena, it is important to discuss this issue in various forums, including in the world of education. Various models, methods, and media have become the focus of researchers to teach climate change in schools. Future-oriented learning methods should be considered to improve some of the competencies students need to deal with climate change. Future Workshop is one of the methods in this category, which is believed to be able to provide a learning experience until students reach the stage of formulating action. This study aims to understand the effect of Future Workshop on anticipatory competency and students' pro-environmental intentions towards the issue of climate change. By using a pre-experimental design research with the type of one-group pretest-posttest design, and using purposive sampling technique, the study was conducted on 26 students in classes X and XI who are members of the Paskibra, English Club, and Biology Olympiad extracurricular club in one of the senior high schools in Bandung. The results showed that there was an effect of the Future Workshop learning method on increasing the average test score on anticipatory competency and students' pro-environmental intentions. This research can be an opening gate to explore in more detail the effectiveness of the Future Workshop method on major problems in the future, such as climate change. It is believed, the emotional aspect is the key in the emergence of anticipatory competencies and students' environmental intentions, and should be considered in the learning process.
