Abstract

Penelitian Tindakan Kelas ini dilakukan untuk menerapkan penggunaan Six Thinking Hats de Bono yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VI di SDK BPK Penabur Banda. Penelitian ini dilakukan karena peneliti melihat siswa seringkali bergantung kepada informasi yang diberikan oleh pengajar di kelas. Siswa tidak memiliki rasa antusiasme untuk menggali informasi pembelajaran secara mandiri melalui beragam media pembelajaran yang ada. Pembelajaran IPA harus membuat siswa aktif dalam menggali informasi tanpa harus menunggu informasi diberikan oleh guru karena pembelajaran IPA meliputi segala hal yang berkaitan dengan kehidupan siswa sehari-hari sehingga pembelajaran yang melibatkan pengalaman siswa akan meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Dalam penelitian tindakan kelas ini peneliti menggunakan model Hopkins. Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam tiga siklus yang terdiri atas dua tindakan dalam setiap siklusnya. Pada pelaksanaan tiap siklusnya peneliti menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data yang berupa observasi terhadap siswa, catatan lapangan, penilaian aktivitas dan evaluasi. Pada proses pembelajarannya siswa diberikan pertanyaan-pertanyaan di awal pembelajaran untuk mengetahui kemampuan siswa terhadap materi yang dibahas, kemudian masuk ke dalam kegiatan inti yang merupakan rangkaian dari tahapan-tahapan kegiatan berpikir kritis seperti kegiatan pengamatan, merumuskan hipotesis,diskusi, keterampilan bertanya dan menjawab pertanyaan,membuat kesimpulan dan penerapan konsep. Pada proses pembelajarannya peneliti menilai kegiatan siswa dalam kerja kelompok dan di akhir pembelajaran peneliti menilai hasil belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran IPA dengan menggunakan six thinking hats de bono dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Hal ini terlihat dari hasil belajar siswa yang mengalami peningkatan pada setiap siklusnya terlihat pada nilai rata-rata siklus I:42,89; siklus II: 64,47; dan pada siklus III:81,83. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan, untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dapat menggunakan six thinking hats de bono. ----- This classroom action reserach was done to apply the usage of six thinking hats de bono which is used to develop the crictical thinking skill of six grader of SDK BPK Penabur Banda. This research was done since the researcher saw the implication toward students that tends to depend on the information given by teacher in the classroom. Students were not showing any enthusiasm to digging deeper the information taught in the classroom. Science process of learning should be able to make students being engaged in the process of learning without waiting to teachers to feed them with some information needed. The material given through the science learning was the materials that was related towards the students’ daily life. This means the process of science learning should involved students to do an experimental learning that will be beneficial for their life insetad of feed them with spoonfull information. This research was done by using Hopkins method which mean following three cycles in which consist of two actions for each cycle. Within each cycle, researcher involve the collecting data method such as observation, anecdotal records, asessment activity and evaluation. In the process of learning, students were give several questions in the beginning of the learning process which aimed to check their ability in the materials given. During the main activity, students focus on indicators of critical thinking skills such as giving simple explanation, makeing conclusion, giving elementary explanation and integrated action. The result of the research’ done showing that Science learning activity of six grader in SDK BPK Banda showing improvement after they used six thinking hats de bono. This shown from the result of students’ evaluation from each cyle. The average result of cycle I showed 42,89; cycle Ii 64,47 and cycle II showed 81,83. Based on this research, tsix thinking hats de bono could be used to improve the critical thinking skill.
