Abstract

Indonesia sebagai negara berpenduduk Muslim terbesar, memiliki banyak penghafal Al-Qur’an (Hafiz). Secara global jumlah penghafal Al-Qur’an di seluruh dunia juga meningkat. Minat orang tua Muslim dalam mendidik anaknya menjadi penghafal Al-Qur’an tampaknya sangat besar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali pengalaman orang tua yang mendidik anaknya untuk menghafal Al-Qur'an sejak usia dini dari segi alasan, metode dan strategi, serta tantangannya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan analisis grounded theory. Ada empat orang tua yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini, orang tua tersebut telah mendidik anak-anaknya untuk menghafal Al-Qur’an sejak usia dini dengan latar belakang dan domisili yang berbeda-beda di Indonesia. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, alasan mengapa orang tua mendidik anaknya untuk menghafal Al-Qur’an sejak usia dini karena orang tua mengoptimalkan kompetensi dan masa keemasan anak usia dini; mereka juga sadar akan kemuliaan Al-Qur’an dan hikmah menjadi Hafiz; prinsip dan latar belakang orang tua; adanya sosok atau program yang menginspirasi mereka; serta terdapat manfaat menghafal Al-Qur’an bagi perkembangan anak. Orang tua memiliki metode tersendiri bagaimana anaknya menghafal Al-Qur’an yang menurut mereka merupakan metode yang efektif dan tepat diterapkan untuk anak mereka antara lain: metode talaqqi, pengawasan, menonton video murottal (lantunan ayat Qur’an), dan metode campuran. Adapun strateginya dalam mendidik anak untuk menghafal Al-Qur'an sejak usia dini adalah berusaha memahami karakteristik anak, menerapkan pembiasaan terhadap Al-Qur'an, memotivasi mereka dan memberikan penghargaan, menunjukkan contoh baik atau keterladanan, kemudian konsistensi dan disiplin. Sedangkan tantangannya adalah mood/suasana hati anak, kurangnya kerjasama antara orang tua, penggunaan perangkat elektronik/gadget, kesibukan orang tua, kritikan orang, dan muraja’ah (mengulang hafalan) secara rutin. Kata Kunci: menghafal, Qur’an, anak, orang tua, pengalaman Indonesia as the largest Muslim country, has a lot of memorizers of the Qur'an (Hafiz). Globally, the number of memorizers of the Qur'an around the world is also increasing. The interest of Muslim parents in educating their children to memorize the Qur'an seems to be very high. This study aims to explore the experiences of parents who educate their children to memorize the Qur'an from an early age in terms of reasons, methods and strategies, as well as the challenges. This research is a qualitative research using grounded theory analysis. There were four parents involved in this study, those parents have been educating their children to memorize the Qur'an since early childhood from different backgrounds and domiciles in Indonesia. Based on this research, the reason why the parents educate their children to memorize the Qur'an since early childhood is because they optimize competence and the golden age of early childhood; they are also aware of the glory of the Qur'an and the wisdom of being a Hafiz; the principles and background of the parents; the existence of a figure or program that inspires them; and there are benefits of memorizing the Qur'an for child development. Parents have their own methods of how their children memorize the Qur'an which they think is an effective and appropriate method to apply to their children, including: talaqqi methods, supervision, watching murottal videos (recitation of Qur'anic verses), and mixed methods. The strategies in educating children to memorize the Qur'an since early childhood are trying to understand the characteristics of the children, applying habituation of the Qur'an, motivating them and giving rewards, showing good exemplary, then consistency and discipline. While the challenges are the children's mood, lack of cooperation between parents, use of electronic devices/gadgets, busy parents, criticism of people, and muraja'ah (repeating rote) on a regular basis.
