Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif, bertujuan untuk mencari informasi dan mendeskripsikan bagaimana pemanfaatan jurnal elektronik sebagai sumber belajar oleh mahasiswa Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI). Latar belakang penelitian ini berawal dari pemahaman bahwa perkembangan Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK) yang sangat cepat membawa banyak pengaruh dalam kehidupan manusia termasuk di bidang pendidikan. Salah satu perkembangan TIK untuk pendidikan adalah penyajian informasi berbentuk digital adalah jurnal elektronik yang biasa digunakan sebagai sumber belajar oleh mahasiswa. Populasi yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah mahasiswa UPI angkatan 2017-2020 dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 395 responden yang ditentukan dengan teknik probability sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara survei melalui angket dalam bentuk google form kemudian analisis data menggunakan rumus persentase dan disimpulkan dengan melakukan interpretasi skor total dari setiap rumusan masalah. Hasil temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Tingkat pemanfaatan jurnal elektronik oleh mahasiswa UPI berada pada kategori sangat tinggi, (2) Intensitas penggunaan jurnal elektronik mahasiwa UPI berada pada kategori tinggi, (3) Bentuk pemanfaatan jurnal elektronik oleh mahasiswa UPI masuk pada kategori sangat tinggi (beragam), serta (4) Kendala dalam pemanfaatan jurnal elektronik oleh mahasiswa UPI masuk pada kategori sedang. Kesimpulannya, pemanfaatan jurnal elektronik sebagai sumber belajar oleh mahasiswa UPI merupakan bentuk pengintegrasian TIK dalam pembelajaran dan berdasarkan hasil perhitungan dari responden penelitian pemanfaatannya sudah tergolong baik walaupun masih terdapat kendala. This research is quantitative descriptive research, aiming to find information and describe the use of electronic journals as a learning resource by Indonesia University of Education (UPI) students. The background of this research is the understanding that the evolution of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has brought many influences in human life, including in education. One of the evolutions of ICT for education in presentation information in digital form is electronic journals which are commonly used as learning resources by students. The population used in the research was the UPI student class of 2017-2020 with a total sample of 395 respondents and determined by probability sampling technique. The data was collected by means of a survey through questionnaire on google form, then the data was analyzed using the percentage formula and concluded by interpreting the total score of each research problem formulation. The research findings show that: (1) The level of utilization of electronic journals by UPI students is in the very high category, (2) The intensity of the use of electronic journals by UPI students is in the high category, (3) The form of utilization of electronic journals by UPI students is in the very hight category (various), and (4) problems or difficulties encountered when accessing in the use of electronic journals by UPI students are in the medium category. In conclusion, the use of electronic journals as learning resources by UPI students is a form of integrating ICT in the learning process, and based on the result of calculations from research respondents, the utilization is quite good although there are still have problems.
