Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pembelajaran konsep bilangan yang dilakukan melalui pemberian tugas kepada anak. Kemampuan konsep bilangan termasuk pada aspek perkembangan kognitif yang harus dikembangkan pada anak usia. Peneliti menjadikan permainan modifikasi kartu uno sebagai alternatif kegiatan pembelajaran melalui bermain, karena permainan ini dapat dilakukan secara bersama-sama baik dengan orangtua maupun teman seusianya yang sesuai dengan tahap bermain anak dan bermain bermanfaat untuk perkembangan kognitif yakni anak dapat lebih mudah menerima konsep-konsep matematika daripada anak belajar seperti pembelajaran yang dilakukan pada orang dewasa. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan kemampuan konsep bilangan anak usia dini melalui modifikasi permainan kartu uno. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu penelitian tindakan yang didesain oleh Pelton. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada anak usia 5-6 tahun Kecamatan Gununghalu Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Temuan penelitian pada tindakan 1 rata-rata pengenalan anak terhadap angka belum maksimal, anak-anak hanya mampu mencocokan sebagian hitungan dengan lambang bilangan dan saat berhitung hanya 2 orang anak yang terlihat cukup baik kemampuanya. Pada tindakan 2 indikator 1 dan 2 sudah berkembang sesuai harapan yang ditunjukan dari kemampuan anak mengenal angka dan mencocokan angka sedangkan indikator 3 masih sebagain anak yang sudah berkembang sesuai harapan. Selanjutnya, tindakan 3 pada indikator 1, 2, dan 3 sudah berkembang sangat baik hanya ada 2 anak yang peningkatan kemampuan pada indikator 3 yang berkembang sesuai harapan. Permainan modifikasi kartu uno dapat dijadikan alternatif untuk mengembangkan kemampuan konsep bilangan melalui bermain. ----- The background of this research was the learning of number concept which was done by giving assignments to children. The concept of numbers skill is one of the aspects of cognitive developments that must be developed in early children. The researcher made the modification of uno card game as an alternative for learning activities through playing, because this game could be done together with both parents and friends of the same age in accordance to the child's playing stage. Playing is beneficial for children's cognitive development. It enables children to accept mathematical concepts more easily. The aim of this study was to improve the ability of early childhood on understanding number concepts through a modified Uno card game. The method used in this research was the action research designed by Pelton. This research was conducted on children aged 5 to 6 years, in Gununghalu District, West Bandung Regency. The research findings in action 1 was that the average rate of children's number sense skill was not maximal. Children were merely able to match a few of the count numbers with number symbols, and when counting numbers there were only 2 children who had quite good number sense skill. In action 2, the children’s skills on indicators 1 and 2 had developed as expected. They were indicated by the children's ability in recognising numbers and matching numbers. Meanwhile there were only a few children who had developed their skill for indicator 3. Furthermore, by action 3 children’s skills on indicators 1, 2, and 3 had developed very well. Yet, there were only 2 children showed expected ability improvement on indicator 3. Uno card modification games can be used as an alternative to develop number concept skills through playing.
