Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh pentingnya pengembangan nilai toleransi bagi peserta didik Sekolah Dasar, di tengah keberagaman adat istiadat, budaya dan pluralitas agama yang ada di Indonesia, agar tercipta kehidupan yang rukun dan harmonis, demi terjaganya persatuan dan kesatuan bangsa Indonesia. Model pembelajaran yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Problem Based Learning (PBL), yang mengedepankan masalah sebagai titik poin pembelajarannya, dan melibatkan peserta didik untuk memecahkan masalah yang dihadapi sesuai dengan pengetahuan yang dimilikinya. Tujuan peneiltian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: 1) Perencanaan Pembelajaran PBL dalam Mengembangkan Nilai Toleransi, 2) Proses Pembelajaran PBL dalam Mengembangkan Nilai Toleransi, 3) Peningkatan nilai toleransi peserta didik setelah Pembelajaran PBL. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dimana peneliti memanfaatkan data kualitatif yang diperoleh dari instrument-instrumen penelitian berupa lembar observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi yang kemudian dijabarkan secara deskriptif mulai dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, sampai pada tahap evaluasi. Subjek yang dilibatkan dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas IV SD Negeri Rancaekek 05 Kecamatan Rancaekek. Peneliti menemukan bahwa pengembangan nilai toleransi efektif dilakukan melalui pembelajaran PBL bagi peserta didik. Pengembangan nilai toleransi berpengaruh pula terhadap meningkatnya kerukunan peserta didik Sekolah Dasar. Hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari nilai skala sikap yang diperoleh peserta didik, dan perubahan perilaku peserta didik yang mengalami perkembangan positif pada tiap-tiap pertemuan selama pelaksanaan PBL. Perilaku saling menghargai antar peserta didik, mampu memecahkan permasalahan, dan menjaga kerukunan merupakan modal dasar untuk menjaga persatuan dan kesatuan bangsa di tengah keanekaragaman masyarakat Indonesia . Abstract Development of Tolerance Values through Problem Based Learning (PBL) to Improve Harmony of Elementary School Students This research is motivated by the importance of developing the value of tolerance for elementary school students, in the diversity of customs, culture, and religious plurality in Indonesia, to create a harmonious and harmonious life, to maintain the unity and integrity of the Indonesian nation. The learning model used in this study is Problem Based Learning (PBL), which puts forward problems as learning points, and involves students to solve the problems they face according to their knowledge. The purpose of this research is to find out: 1) PBL Learning Planning in Developing Tolerance Values, 2) PBL Learning Processes in Developing Tolerance Values, 3) Increasing students' tolerance values after PBL Learning. This research is a qualitative descriptive study in which the researcher utilizes qualitative data obtained from research instruments in the form of observation sheets, interviews, and documentation which are then described descriptively starting from planning, implementation, to the evaluation stage. The subjects involved in this study were fourth-grade students at SD Negeri Rancaekek 05, Rancaekek District. Researchers found that the development of effective tolerance values was carried out through PBL learning for students. The development of the value of tolerance also affects the increasing harmony of elementary school students. This can be seen from the attitude scale values obtained by students and changes in student behavior that experience positive developments at each meeting during the implementation of PBL. The behavior of mutual respect between students, being able to solve problems, and maintaining harmony is the basic capital to maintain national unity and integrity amid the diversity of Indonesian society.
