Abstract

Abstrak Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menguji pengaruh strategi High Five berbantuan media gambar dan strategi 3-2-1 berbantuan media gambar dalam pembelajaran membaca pemahaman siswa kelas IV sekolah dasar. Dalam penelitian ini pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV di SDN Bojongbubu. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes. Tes dilaksanakan dua tahap yakni prates sebelum diberikan perlakuan dan pascates setelah diberikan perlakuan strategi yang telah di tetapkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa strategi High Five berbantuan media gambar dan strategi 3-2-1 berbantuan media gambar dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas IV sekolah dasar. Terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan membaca pemahaman antara kelas yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan strategi High Five berbantuan media gambar dengan kelas yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan strategi 3-2-1 berbantuan media gambar. Peningkatan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan strategi High Five berbantuan media gambar lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan strategi 3-2-1 berbantuan media gambar. Abstract The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the High Five strategy assisted by image media and the 3-2-1 strategy assisted by image media in learning reading comprehension of fourth grade elementary school students. In this research, the approach used is a quantitative approach with comparative method. The subjects of this study were fourth grade students at Bojongbubu Elementary School. The research sample was taken by using purposive sampling technique. The instrument used was a test. The test is carried out in two stages, namely the pre-test which is carried out before the treatment and the post-test which is carried out after the treatment, which has been previously determined. The results showed that the High Five strategy assisted with image media and the 3-2-1 strategy assisted by image media can improve reading comprehension skills of fourth grade elementary school students. There are differences in the improvement of reading comprehension skills between students who are taught with the High Five strategy assisted by image media and students who are taught with the 3-2-1 strategy assisted by image media. The increase in reading comprehension ability of students who are taught with the High Five strategy assisted by image media is higher than the students who are taught with the 3-2-1 strategy assisted by image media.
