Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya penggunaan google classroom sebagai platform e-learning dalam kegiatan pembelajaran jarak jauh pada mata pelajaran IPS di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 7 Bandung. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran jarak jauh dengan memanfaatkan google classroom ini dilakukan dalam rangka membantu guru serta siswa sebagai pengganti ruang kelas konvensional menjadi kelas virtual dalam pembelajaran IPS. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui alasan mengapa guru memilih google classroom sebagai platform e-learning serta mendeskripsikan bagaimana cara guru IPS mengembangkan kegiatan pembelajaran online dengan memanfaatkan google classroom. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dalam bentuk uraian naratif, serta teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kegiatan wawancara online, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil temuan peneliti menunjukan bahwa penggunaan google classroom sebagai platform e-learning yang dilakukan oleh guru dapat menjadi pengganti ruang kelas selama kegiatan pembelajaran jarak jauh dalam mata pelajaran IPS. Hal ini dapat ditunjukan dari cara guru mengembangkan pembelajaran online dalam menggunakan google classroom, yaitu; 1) guru memberi materi berupa media gambar, video, poster, dan power point melalui fitur communication; 2) pemberian tugas yang bervariatif seperti membuat poster, mindmap, video animasi yang dapat diupload dalam fitur assigments; 3) mengadakan kuis atau games learning guna membangun suasana pembelajaran online yang menyenangkan dan guru dapat memberikan penilaian melalui fitur gradding. Kata Kunci: Google Classroom, Platform E-Learning, Pembelajaran IPS. This research was motivated by the use of google classroom as an e-learning platform in distance learning activities in social studies subjects in the 8th grade of Junior High School 7 Bandung. The implementation of distance learning by utilizing google classroom is carried out in order to help teachers and students in lieu of conventional classrooms into virtual classrooms in social studies learning. The purpose of this study is to find the reason why classroom teachers as a platform to google e-learning and described how teachers develop social class online learning activities using google classroom .This study adopted qualitative approaches in the form of the narrative , and engineering data collection is done through the interview online , observation , and study documentation .The findings show that the use of the classroom as a platform google e-learning done by teachers can be a substitute for classroom learning activities distance in subjects social class. This can be shown from the way teachers develop online learning in using google classroom, namely; 1) teachers give material in the form of image, video, poster, and power point media through communication feature; 2) assigning varied tasks such as creating posters, mindmaps, animated videos that can be uploaded in the assigments feature; 3) hold quizzes or learning games to build a fun online learning atmosphere and teachers can provide assessment through gradding features.
