Abstract

Rendahnya pendidikan karakter mengakibatkan permasalahan sosial seperti kenakalan remaja. Permasalahan ini dapat diatasi dengan pendidikan karakter melalui program full day school. Masalah penelitian ini adalah bagaimana program full day school untuk meningkatkan pendidikan karakter. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi program full day school untuk meningkatkan pendidikan karakter pada aspek perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan hasil belajar siswa. Pendidikan karakter yang diteliti yaitu aspek religius, disiplin, jujur, kerja keras dalam belajar, tanggungjawab, komunikatif dan gemar membaca. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif jenis studi evaluasi. Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah angket, observasi dan studi dokumentasi. Teknik yang digunakan dalam pengambilan sampel yaitu random sampling dengan jumlah sampel siswa 89 responden, orang tua siswa 89 responden dan guru 75 responden. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah chi square. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perencanaan program full day school terlaksana dengan baik, sarana dan prasarana yang memadai serta sumber daya manusia yang berkualitas. Pelaksanaan program pembelajaran yang tertata dengan baik, program pembiasaan pendidikan karakter dan program pengembangan diri seperti ekstrakurikuler dan peminatan yang sudah sesuai dengan minat siswa. Evaluasi hasil belajar termasuk dalam kategori baik yaitu sebagian besar nilai akademik siswa di atas KKM, prestasi di bidang ekstrakurikuler dan menerapkan pendidikan karakter di lingkungan masyarakat. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah pelaksanaan dan hasil belajar dari program full day school untuk meningkatkan pendidikan karakter dikatakan baik. Rekomendasi untuk pengembang kurikulum perlu mengembangkan kurikulum secara mandiri serta meningkatkan kegiatan dalam meningkatkan pendidikan karakter dan pengembangan diri; The low character education in the neighborhood results in social problems such as juvenile delinquency. This problem can be overcome by character education through full day school programs. The problem of this research is evaluation of full day school programs to improve character education. This study aims to determine the evaluation of full day school programs to improve character education on aspects of plan, implementation and learning outcomes. The character education studied includes religious aspects of discipline, honesty, hard work, responsibility, communicative and fond of reading. This study used a quantitavive approach and a descriptive method of evaluation studies. Data collection instruments used were questionnaires, observation and documentation. The technique used in sampling is random sampling with 89 student respondents, 89 parent respondents and 75 teacher respondents. The data analysis technique used is chi square. The results of this study indicate that full day school program planning is carried out good, adequate facilities and infrastructure and quality human resources. Implementation is include is good organized learning programs, character building programs and self development programs such as extracurricular and specialization that are in line with student interest. Evaluation of learning outcomes is the majority of student academic values above KKM, achievments in extracurricular fields and applying character education in the community. Therefore, it can be concluded that planning, implementation, learning outcomes from full day school programs to improve character education are said to be good. Recommendations for curriculum development need to develop the curriculum independently and increase activities in improving character education and self development
