Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh berkembang pesatnya media sosial khususnya aplikasi line today, hal ini menyebabkan peneliti berpendapat bahwa line today mampu meningkatkan literasi informasi siswa dalam mengerjakan atau memahami materi IPS. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh penggunaan aplikasi line today sebagai sumber belajar terhadap literasi informasi siswa pada pembelajaran IPS. Untuk meningkatkan literasi informasi siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS menggunakan line today, penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain “nonequivalent control group desain” dengan pola “sebelum” dan “sesudah”yang masing-masing dilakukan sebanyak dua kali serta dilakukan treatment pada dua kelas yaitu kelas XI F sebagai kelompok ekperiment dan kelas XI G sebagai kelompok kontrol. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik sampel bertujuan (purposive sampel). Pengumpulan data keterampilan literasi informasi siswa menggunakan angket tertutup. Setelah data terkumpul, lalu dilakukan analisis secara kuantitatif melalui uji hipotesis atau uji-t. Pada kelas ekperimen yang diberikan treatment menunjukan peningkatan yang signifikan, sedangkan pada kelas control antara “sebelum” dan “sesudah” yang tidak diberikan treatment hasilnya sama atau tidak ada peningkatan. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan terdapat peningkatan keterampilan literasi informasi yang dipengaruhi oleh sumber belajar line today dalam pembelajaran IPS;---This study was carried out as for the rapid growth of social media, particularly the Line Today feature in LINE application. The researcher, in this issue, assumed that Line Today could improve the students’ information literacy in accomplishing or comprehending Social studies at school. This study was conducted to examine the impact of using Line Today application as the learning resource towards the students’ information literacy in Social studies. To improve the students’ information literacy in Social studies using Line Today, this research used the nonequivalent control group desain along with the pretest and posttest that had been done twice for each. Also, the treatments were implemented in two classes: XI F as the experimental group and XI F as the control group. The participants were selected due to the purposive sampling. The data collection of students’ information literacy comprehension was gathered using a close-ended questionnaire. After gathering the data, the data were analyzed statistically through sample t-test or hypothesis testing. In the experimental group, who were given the interventions, it could be seen that there was a significant improvement. Meanwhile, the control group did not show the improvement (the results of pretest and posttest tended to be similar). Therefore, it could be concluded that there was an improvement in students’ information literacy comprehension affected by the Line Today as the main source of Social studies.
