Abstract

Pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) merupakan model pembelajaran yang mengelompokan siswa secara heterogen, kemudian siswa yang pandai menjelaskan pada anggota lain sampai mengerti. Tujuan dari penelitian ini antara lain: mendeskripsikan perencanaan metode Student Teams Achievement Division yang diterapkan pada pembelajaran IPS di kelas VIII-8 SMP, mendeskripsikan proses metode Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD)yang dierapkan pada pembelajaran IPS di kelas VIII-8, mendeskripsikan kendala-kendala yang dihadapi guru dalam mengembangkan karakter tanggung jawab terhadap tugas kelompok melalui metode Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD)di kelas VIII-8 SMP, mendeskripsikan analisis pengembangan karakter tanggung jawab terhadap tugas kelompok setelah ditepkannya metode Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD)pada peserta didik kelas VIII-8. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Class Room Action Research (Penelitian Tindakan Kelas) yaitu penelitian yang dilakukan oleh guru untuk memecahkan masalah-masalah didalam kelas. Dalam proses penelitian tindakan perlunya langkah-langkah yang difokuskan pada kegiatan pokok, yaitu planning, acting, observing, reflecting. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan,Perencanaan metode STAD dilakukan dengan kolaborasi guru mata pelajaran IPS bukan hanya guru mata pelajaran IPS yang bertugas mengajar dikelas VIII-8, namun juga guru IPS lainnya. Kendala dalam proses pelaksanan metode STAD disarankan sebelum melakukan proses pembelajaran dan siklus, kelas diberitahu untuk mengkondisikan diri termasuk duduk dengan kelompok secara teratur dan rapi. Untuk meningkatkan rasa tanggung jawab peserta didik terhadap tugas kelompok dengan menggunakan STAD terlebih dahulu perlu adanya peningkatan bukan hanya pada aktifitas atau motivasi peserta didik untuk mengerjakan tugas serta memahami materi, namun juga perlunya kondisi kelas yang nyaman untuk peserta didik belajar. ;--- Cooperative Learning type of Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) is a learning model that groups heterogeneous students in which the high-achiever students explain to other group members until they understand. The research objectives include:describing the planning of the Student Team Achievement Division method implemented to the learning process of social science in grade VIII-8 of junior high school, describing the process of the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) method implemented to the learning process of social science in grade VIII-8, describing the constraints experienced by the teachers in developing the character of responsibility for group assignments through the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) method in grade VIII-8 of junior high school, and describing the development analysis of the character of responsibility for group assignments after implementing the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) method to students in grade VIII-8. The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research; it is a research conducted by the teacher to solve problems in the classroom. In the process of action research, it is necessary to take steps focused on the main activities, i.e. planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Based on the research findings that have been obtained, the STAD method planning was carried out with collaboration between social science teachers. It was not only the social science teacher who was assigned to teach grade VIII-8, but also other social science teachers. For the constraints in the process of implementing the STAD method, it is suggested that before carrying out the learning process and cycles, the class is informed to set themselves up including sitting in groups regularly and neatly. To increase students’ sense of responsibility towards group assignments by using STAD, it is firstly necessary to have some improvement; not only on the activities or motivation of the students in doing the assignments and understanding the learning material, but also the comfortable classroom conditions for them.
