Abstract

Pertumbuhan dan perkembangan diri anak terhadap lingkungannya dalam menyelesaikan berbagai masalah sangat dipengaruhi oleh kecerdasan emosional yang ada pada anak tersebut. Melalui pengembangan kecerdasan emosional akan membantu seseorang untuk menemukan solusi dalam menghadapi permasalahan kehidupan sehari-hari. Fenomena yang terjadi ditemukan adanya ketidak-mampuan mengendalikan emosi, seperti anak yang tidak mampu belajar disebabkan karena keadaan psikologisnya kurang baik, tidak bisa menjalin hubungan dengan teman sebaya, cenderung senang mengejek antar teman dan anak cenderung merasa senang saat membuat temannya merasa kesal dan marah. Rendahnya kemampuan kecerdasan emosional anak yang disebabkan karena kecerdasan emosional yang belum terlatih dengan baik, sehingga perlu dilakukan pengembangan kecerdasan emosional sejak dini yang salah satunya melalui permainan tradisional. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh permainan tradisional terhadap perkembangkan kecerdasan emosional siswa kelas VI Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian menggunakan metode kuasi-eksperimen. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa kelas VI SDN 8 Ciseureuh Kabupaten Purwakarta. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIA sebagai kelas eksperimen yang mendapat perlakuan permainan tradisional dan kelas VIB sebagai kelas kontrol yang tidak mendapat perlakuan. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket kuisioner kecerdasan emosional siswa Sekolah Dasar. Hasil penelitian permainan tradisional berpengaruh terhadap perkembangan kecerdasan emosional siswa kelas VI SDN 8 Ciseureuh Kabupaten Purwakarta. Rekomendasi permainan tradisional dapat diterapkan di lingkungan sekolah, keluarga dan masyarakat karena dapat mengembangkan kecerdasan emosional siswa dan pendidik dapat meningkatkan kompetensinya terutama yang berkaitan dengan menggali perkembangan kecerdasan emosional siswa. The growth and development of a child's self to his environment in solving various problems is greatly influenced by the emotional intelligence that exists in the child. Through the development of emotional intelligence will help someone to find solutions in dealing with problems of daily life. The phenomenon that occurs is found to be inability to control emotions, such as children who are unable to learn due to psychological conditions are not good, can not establish relationships with peers, tend to like to mock between friends and children tend to feel happy when making friends feel upset and angry. The low ability of children's emotional intelligence caused by emotional intelligence that has not been properly trained, so it is necessary to develop emotional intelligence early on, one of which through traditional games. The research aims to examine the effect of traditional games on the development of emotional intelligence of Grade VI students of elementary schools. Research uses quasi-experimental methods. The study population was Grade VI students of SDN 8 Ciseureuh, Purwakarta Regency. The sample of the research is the VIA class students as an experimental class who received traditional game treatment and the VIB class as a control class that did not receive treatment. Data collection techniques using questionnaires for elementary school emotional intelligence students. The results of traditional game research have an effect on the development of emotional intelligence of Grade VI students of SDN 8 Ciseureuh, Purwakarta Regency. Traditional game recommendations can be applied in the school environment, family and community because it can develop students 'emotional intelligence and educators can improve their competence, especially those related to exploring the development of students' emotional intelligence.
