Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas V di salah satu Sekolah Dasar di Kecamatan Sukajadi Kota Bandung. Hal tersebut dikarenakan pembelajaran yang dilakukan masih berpusat pada guru dan siswa belum terlibat secara aktif dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan metode CIRC (Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition) untuk meningkatkan kemmapuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas V Sekolah dasar dan mendeskripsikan peningkatan kemampuan membaca pemahaman tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan untuk penelitian ini adalah metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan menggunakan model Kemmis & Mc. Taggart yang terdiri atas perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan sebanyak 2 siklus. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu observasi, catatan lapangan, dan tes. Adapun instrumen pembelajarannya dengan menggunakan lembar observasi, catatan lapangan dan soal tes. Berdasarkan penelitian tindakan kelas yang telah dilakukan, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode CIRC dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar.;Background of this research was motivated by the low of reading comprehension ability of 5rd grade students in an elementary school in sukajadi district in bandung city. That is caused of learning still centered on the teacher and the student did not involved on learning actively. the purpose of this research is describe about learning implementation using CIRC methods to improve reading comprehension ability of 5rd grade students in elementary school and increase the reading comprehension ability. the methods which used in this research is classroom action research method using Kemmis model and Mc taggart to consist of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. This research was conducted in 2 cycles. Data collection techniques which used in this research is observation, field notes, and testing. as for the learning instrument is using observation paper, field notes, and question test. based on classroom action research that has been done, it can be conclude that application of CIRC method can improve reading comprehension ability of 5th grade students in elementary school.
