    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Hal ini dikarenakan pembelajaran yang belum berpusat pada siswa. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, peneliti menggunakan model Problem Based Learning untuk mengatasinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model Problem Based Learning untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas IV SD dan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas IV SD setelah menerapkan model Problem Based Learning. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas model Kemmis dan Mc.Taggart yang terdiri dari dua siklus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa SDN C kelas IV sebanyak 26 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, tes, dan catatan lapangan. Pengolahan data yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Kualitatif dilakukan dengan tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi. Sedangkan kuantitatif berupa skor hasil tes, skor kemampuan pemecahan masalah, nilai rata-rata kelas, presentase tiap indikator, dan presentase ketuntasan kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penerapan model Problem Based Learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas IV SD SDN C di Kota Bandung.

    This research is motivated by the low mathematical problem solving abilities of students. This is because learning is not student-centered. Based on these problems, researchers used the Problem Based Learning model to overcome them. This study aims to describe the implementation of learning by applying the Problem Based Learning model to improve the mathematical problem solving abilities of fourth grade elementary school students and increase the mathematical problem solving abilities of fourthgrade students after applying the Problem Based Learning model. The method used is class action research model Kemmis and McTaggart which consists of two cycles. The subjects of this study were 26 gradefourth SDN C students. Data collection techniques use using observation, tests, and field notes. The data processing used is qualitative and quantitative. Qualitatively carried out by stages of data reduction, data presentation, and verification. Whereas quantitatively in the form of test result score, problem solving ability score, class average value, percentage of each indicator, and completeness percentage of problem solving ability. The conclusion of this study is the application of the Problem Based Learning model can improve the mathematical problem solving abilities of fourth grade students of SDN C in the city of Bandung.
