Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar siswa kelas IV sekolah dasar pada mata pelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan mengadaptasi model Kemmis dan Taggart yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV semester genap di salah satu SD Negeri kecamatan Cidadap kota Bandung dengan jumlah siswa 22 orang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan menerapkan tiga prinsip kunci RME sebagai langkah pembelajarannyayaitu 1) didactical phenomenology, 2) guided re-invention/progressive matematization dan 3) self depelopped models. Instrumen pengumpul data pada penelitian ini adalah lembar observasi, lembar evaluasi, catatan lapangan, dan dokumentasi. Dari siklus I dan siklus II diperoleh nilai dengan rata-ratanya meningkat, sedangkan untuk keberhasilan Presentase ketuntasannya untuk siklus I dan untuk siklus II juga meningkat. Berdasarkan data tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan realistic mathematics education (RME) dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas IV di salah satu SD Negeri di kecamatan Cidadap.;--- This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of fourth grade students of elementary school on mathematics subjects. This study aims to describe the application of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach to improve student learning outcomes. The research method used in this research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) by adapting the Kemmis and Taggart model which is implemented in two cycles. The subject of this research is the fourth graders of the semester even in one of the SD Negeri Cidadap subdistrict of Bandung with the number of students 22 people. This research is conducted by applying three key principles of RME as a learning step that is 1) didactical phenomenology, 2) guided re-invention / progressive matematization and 3) self depelopped models. The data collection instruments in this study were observation sheets, evaluation sheets, field notes, and documentation.From cycle I and cycle II, the mean value increases, while for success the percentage of completeness for cycle I and for cycle II also increases. Based on the data, it can be concluded that the application of realistic mathematics education (RME) approach can improve the learning outcomes of fourth graders in one elementary school in Cidadap sub-district.
