Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul “Penerapan Model Know-Want-Learned Untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Menentukan Ide Pokok Paragraf Siswa Kelas IV Sekolah Dasar”. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan (1) perencanaan pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model Know-Want-Learned untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menentukan ide pokok paragraf (2) pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model Know-Want-Learned untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menentukan ide pokok dan (3) peningkatan kemampuan menentukan ide pokok siswa kelas IV dalam pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model Know-Want-Learned. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV yang berjumlah 27 siswa pada tahun 2017/2018 di SDN 013 Pasirkaliki Kecamatan Cicendo Kota Bandung. Penelitian ini berawal dari rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam menentukan ide pokok paragraf pada pembelajaran tematik dengan rerata 45,6 yang masih di bawah KKM yaitu 70,00. Berdasarkan hasil refleksi pra-siklus, selama ini guru belum menggunakan suatu model yang membimbing siswa secara lansung dalam menentukan ide pokok. Oleh karena itu, peneliti melakukan penelitian tindakan ini dengan menerapkan model Know-Want-Learned yang sebelumnya belum pernah diterapkan oleh guru dalam pembelajaran. PTK yang dimulai dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi yang kemudian dibuat perencanaan perbaikan untuk digunakan dalam siklus selanjutnya. Penelitiaan ini dilakukan sebanyak dua siklus. Pada siklus I, materi yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran tematik pembelajaran 2 adalah teks fiksi, gaya, dan benda tiga dimensi. Untuk siklus II pembelajaran 6 adalah teks fiksi dan benda tiga dimensi. Pada siklus I kelas kurang kondusif, siswa masih kebingungan mencari informasi yang ingin dicari, sedangkan pada siklus II kelas kelas sudah mulai kondusif namun guru kurang maksimal dalam memfasilitasi dan mengatur waktu ice breaking. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kemampuan menentukan ide pokok paragraf kelas IV SDN 013 Pasirkaliki Kecamatan Cicendo Kota Bandung meningkat dari siklus I dengan rerata 80,00 menjadi 87,00 pada siklus II. Simpulan Penelitian ini adalah bahwa model Know-Want-Learned dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menentukan ide pokok paragraf siswa kelas IV SDN 013 Pasirkaliki Kecamatan Cicendo Kota Bandung.-- This research entitled “Implementation of Know-Want-Learned Model to Increase Ability to Determine Idea of Paragraph of 4th Grade Student of Elementary School”. This study aims to describe (1) learning planning by applying the Know-Want-Learned model to improve the ability to determine the idea of paragraphs (2) the learning process by applying the Know-Want-Learned model to improve the ability to determine the main idea and (3) to increase the ability to determine the main idea of the 4th grade students in learning by applying the Know-Want-Learned. Participants in this study were students of class IV which amounted to 27 students in 2017/2018 at elementary school 013 Pasirkaliki District Cicendo Bandung. This research begins from the low ability of students in determining the main idea of paragraph on thematic learning with the average of 45.6 which is still below the KKM is 70.00. Based on the results of pre-cycle reflection, so far the teacher has not used a model that guides the students directly in determining the main idea. Therefore, the researcher conducts this action research by applying a Know-Want-Learned model that has not previously been applied by the teacher in learning. classroom action research starting from planning, implementation, observation, and reflection which then made improvement planning for use in the next cycle. This research is done in two cycles. In cycle I, the material used in the learning of the theoretical lesson 2 is the text of fiction, style, and three-dimensional objects. For the second cycle of learning 6 is the text of fiction and three-dimensional objects. In the first cycle of the less conducive class, students are still confused to find the information they want to look for, while in cycle II the classroom is getting conducive but the teacher is not maximal in facilitating and arranging ice breaking time. The results showed that the ability to determine the main idea of paragraph class IV elementary school 013 Pasirkaliki District Cicendo Bandung increased from cycle I with the average 80.00 to 87.00 in cycle II. The conclusion of this research is that the Know-Want-Learned model can improve the ability to determine the main idea of paragraph of 4th grade students of elementary school 013 Pasirkaliki, Cicendo Subdistrict, Bandung City.
