Abstract

Penerapan Model Pembelajaran PBL (Problem Based Learning) Untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis Siswa Di Kelas IV Sekolah Dasar Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran PBL (Problem Based Learning). Latar belakang penelitian ini dikarenakan keterampilan berpikir kritis di sekolah tersebut rendah, dengan kondisi guru yang hanya menggunakan metode konvensional atau ceramah dalam proses pembelajaran sehingga menyebabkan siswa pasif dalam proses pembelajaran. Metode yang digunakan peneliti adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) mengadaptasi dari model PTK Kemmis dan Mc.Taggart. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua kali siklus dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Metode pengambilan data dengan menggunakan lembar observasi dengan jumlah subjek penelitian sebanyak 30 siswa di kelas IV dengan jumlah siswa laki-laki sebanyak 14 orang dan jumlah siswa perempuan sebanyak 16 orang. Lokasi penelitian di sebuah Sekolah Dasar kecamatan Sarijadi, kota Bandung. Langkah model pembelajaran PBL (Problem Based Learning) yaitu : orientasi pada masalah, menggorganisasi siswa untuk belajar, membimbing penyelidikan individu maupun kelompok, mengembangkan dan menyajikan hasil karya serta menganalisis dan mengevaluasi proses pemevahan masalah. Setelah pelaksanaan dua siklus terjadi perkembangan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa, terlihat dari setiap siklusnya mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran PBL (Problem Based Learning) di kelas IV SD terbukti dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Dengan demikian model ini dapat dijadikan suatu alternatif dalam pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan guru untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. The Application of PBL Learning Model (Problem Based Learning) To Improve Critical Thinking Skills of Students in Grade IV of Elementary School The research aims to improve students ' critical thinking skills by using the PBL (Problem Based Learning) learning model. The background of this research is because the critical thinking skills in the school are low, with a teacher's condition that only uses conventional methods or lectures in the learning process, causing passive students to process Learning. The method used by the researchers is the Research Action Class (PTK) adapting from the PTK model of Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. The study was conducted in two cycles using qualitative and quantitative methods. The method of data retrieval by using an observation sheet with a study subject number of 30 students in class IV with a total of 14 male students and a total of 16 female students. Location of research in a elementary school of Sarijadi subdistrict, Bandung. The PBL (Problem Based Learning) Model step is: Orientation on the problem, to develop students to learn, to guide individual and group investigations, developing and presenting works and analyzing and evaluating The process of polishing the problem. After the implementation of two cycles occurred progression of students ' critical thinking skills, the visible of each cycle experienced a significant increase. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the implementation of the PBL (Problem Based Learning) model in class IV SD proved to improve students ' critical thinking skills. This model can be used as an alternative in learning that teachers can use to improve students ' critical thinking skills.
