Abstract

Pembelajaran matematika berdasarkan penalaran akan mempersiapkan siswa untuk menjadi warga negara, bekerja, dan untuk belajar di jenjang yang lebih tinggi. Akan tetapi, temuan pada observasi pendahuluan menunjukkan siswa belum mampu menyelesaikan soal penalaran mengenai pola dan mengurutkan bilangan yang disajikan guru sehingga siswa kemudian menunjukkan gejala kecemasan belajar. Untuk itu, guru perlu menyusun pembelajaran yang mampu mengembangkan kemampuan penalaran matematis dan mengurangi kecemasan belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyusun desain pembelajaran yang mampu mengembangkan kemampuan penalaran matematis dan mengurangi kecemasan belajar siswa. Penelitian diadakan di kelas 1 sekolah dasar di Bandung. Materi yang dikembangkan dalam desain ini adalah pembelajaran pola dan mengurutkan bilangan. Penelitian menggunakan metode didactical engineering. Data pada penelitian ini dikumpulkan secara kualitatif menggunakan tes kemampuan responden, observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menemukan hal-hal sebagai berikut: (1) tahapan didactical engineering mencakup analysis, design, construction, dan quality control; (2) temuan learning obstacle menunjukkan bahwa a) siswa belum menguasai materi prasyarat sepenuhnya, b) pilihan pendekatan pembelajaran, analogi yang digunakan, buku pegangan dan cara penyajian konsep dalam buku pelajaran dan kurikulum yang kurang tepat, dan c) siswa mengalami kesulitan saat dihadapkan pada permasalahan yang tidak biasa; (3) kecemasan belajar yang ditunjukkan oleh siswa berupa menghindari pertanyaan peneliti dan gerakan-gerakan tubuh yang tidak lazim; (4) alur pembelajaran yang disusun mencakup pokok-pokok materi pola bilangan maju dan mundur sampai 20, membandingkan bilangan sampai 50, mengurutkan bilangan sampai 50, membandingkan bilangan sampai 99, dan mengurutkan bilangan sampai 99; (5) didactical engineering menunjukkan bahwa respons siswa sudah sesuai dengan prediksi respons yang diharapkan. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelaksanaan didactical engineering telah dapat mengembangkan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa dan mengurangi kecemasan belajar siswa sekolah dasar. ---- Mathematics learning based on reasoning would prepare students to become citizens, to work, and to study in higher education. However, preliminary observation showed that students were unable to solve reasoning problem on number pattern which lead to students showing learning anxiety symptoms. Therefore, educators need to develop learning activities which could develop students’ reasoning skill and reduce students’ learning anxiety. This research aimed to design lesson plan to develop students’ reasoning skill and reduce students’ learning anxiety. The research was conducted in a first grade classroom of a primary school in Bandung. The content of the lesson plane was number patterns. The research used didactical engineering method and the data was collected qualitatively using respondents’ ability test, observation, interview, and documentation. The results showed that: (1) the steps of didactical engineering were analysis, design, construction, and quality control; (2) learning obstacles found on the research were a) students had not mastered the prerequisite knowledge, b) incorrect choice of learning approach, analogy which was used, and concept presentation in the textbook and curriculum, and c) students’difficulties when faced with non-routine problems; (3) learning anxiety which was showed by the students were avoiding questions, and awkward gestures; (4) learning trajectory of number patterns to develop students’ reasoning skill and reduce students’ learning anxiety consists of forward and backward number pattern up to 20, comparison of numbers up to 50, number sequence up to 99, comparison of numbers up to 99, and number sequence up to 99; (5) didactical engineering of lesson design showed that students responses were as predicted in a priori analysis. Therefore, we conclude that the didactical enginerring process is able to develop students’ reasoning skill and reduce students’ learning anxiety
